being invited to a recruitment day isnt the same as being offered a jpb.

you also dont say how many hours a week that youd be working... only that you asked for 30+

you really havent given enough details.

and if you have been offered a job, and turned it down... it is quite likely that your JSA would be sanctioned

Dono just yet what wage rate is just working out on minimum.
  • Don't you want your children to know that daddy pays not "her next door but one" for your clothes and food?

Yes i would love to but why should i take a job If it gonna make me worse off?
  • It shouldn't make you *worse off* - it may not pay a huge amount more but not worse off.

Eg from April you are likely to have to pay your CTB (at least part anyway) on benefits. Other forthcoming changes will mean that you may have to pay other items out of your benefits.

Plus this can springboard you to a better paid job - paying a lot more.

There is a wider picture that what you are seeing.

Plus children get to see a positive role model etc
  • BTW I am not saying that to be critical (I don't live in your shoes) but I am saying look at all angles not just financial

Is there a back to work incentive

Are you likely to be hit by UC?

Will you pay CT from April?

Will many of your childrens friends be on benefits

Do you have asperations for the future etc

Just look at other aspects before making a decision on the basis of a calculator.

ok this is a rough estimate !!!

Have put your wage in at £6.19 for 30 hours as minimum wage goes up in Oct.

    Weekly

Wage (after tax and in) 175
    Tax Credits 177.84
    Child Benefit 33.70
    Total income 386.54

Must say though is £105 your whole rent ?

    Outgoings Rent 43.10
    C Tax 13.26

    Total weekly income 330.18
    Minus current income 251.70
    Extra weekly income 78.48

Hope this is of some help.

Yes i agree. but when i did the calculation I was £4 better of that's with out school meals and any other things i am not aware of paying. And if it mean me being on benefits stable to keep a roof over my 2 kids heads and 3 square meals in their belly a day so will be what will be.
