Thanks lynneinjapan! I might try ebay then - it is so confusing and quite stressful. The cards I like from madaboutcards.com have a little embossed square on the front, which I was going to use to stick to silver padded hearts inside - I am not very good with spacing otherwise. And they are already folded. They are 22p each. What i don't really want to have to do is cut card or paper because I know if I do that it will just look a mess. I want the card and paper to come already cut to the size I want.
That is no probs with the cards, but I was thinking of using parchment paper inside, so i need to get that already cut to A5 size. But maybe I will try linen paper, I have never heard of that.
Thanks anyway, I will look on ebay now.I'm married now! Yippee!0 -
As I mentioned, the guy I bought the card from was a printer, so I expect he'd be able to supply it ready-cut and creased if required (at extra cost, of course). Can't help you with the little squares though!
Linen paper/card has a subtle criss-cross texture of lines going at right angles. I think it looks very classy!
Good luck with your hunt on eBay!0 -
Date of the wedding still to be arranged but we are both flexible and really any day in August to November would do us, we have narrowed the venue down to 4 places going to see them this weekend.
Final date depends on finance as we are going to pay for the whole shooting match ourselves, once we sell my fiancee's flat.
What we have sorted out is the favours, Lloyds chemists are currently selling their christmas packs dead cheap. We managed to pick up bath pack swhich contain fizz bombs, & bath pearls for £1.50. We also bought some silver boxes for 40p out of a craft shop, so the Ladies will get a silver box containing bath pearls and bath bombs/fizz bombs (total cost £1.15 each)
We also found a website https://www.kylekeepsakes.co.uk they do personalised minature whisky bottles for the guys @ £3.00 a pop for the first 12 then cheaper there after.
Cards/Invites etc being organised through a friend at my future mother in laws work, she can also help witht he video (a friend of hers does it part time)
We are getting married in the hotel so no need for cars, but I so want an Aston Martin to play in (boys & Toys) I have my own kilt, so its only kilt hire for 4 and my intended after much deliberation is happy to hire her dress.
We are not religious so no need for order of service or CoS minister & organist.Only one Debt left and thats the Mortgage

I Bought the little wedding magazine, handbag size, and it advertised a wedding dress sale, samples from Pantene Brides, they list their events and sales on the internet, managed to get a dress reduced from £1000 and bought at £295, had difficulty finding one in a 16 and one that was long enough as am 5'11" tall but after a lot of trawling eventually found one. Formal Affair have a half price ,men's hire offer on at the moment, no need to specify designs, just say you want to hire from them before end of Feb I think, they also have a wedding dress sale on soon. I am sure they would have a website detailing this. Have deciuded to get miniatures from abroad when parents go away as men's favours and friend is making porcelain cala lillies for the women. Studio https://www.24studio.co.uk have wedding stationary and albums on offer at the moment, half price. Parents of Bride and groom have order a personalised album for £10 Managed to get evening invitations from Marks and Spencers reduced 50p for 10. Fitted in with colour scheme and decided evening guests would not know what the day theme was, so I bought them, also bought some invites, different design for a friend who did not like them as day invitiations as she had other designs in mind, so she has decided like me evening guests will not know theme and is using them as evening invitations, still only 50p for 10, but is printing off an insert from her computer and sticking it over inside. We are also getting married on Friday at hotel so no need for cars. WARNING ensure registrar can marry you on date and time you want before booking venue, our venue pressurised us to provisionally book with them, we have ended up with 12p.m. ceremony when we wanted 2p.m.

Jess_7477 wrote:All sorted we are going to Sharm El Sheik in Egypt. Got a very nice 5* hotel and it cost half as much as the Maldives so with the money we have saved we are going to save up some more and try and go there for our first aniversary, I think I will book it up when we get back!
Poor travel agent though we were there for nearly two hours looking at different places we could go!
Jess are you back from honeymoon? How did it go (the wedding not the honeymoon!)?I'm married now! Yippee!0 -

The cheapest I have found is £47, but I haven't booked it yet - has anyone found a cheaper one?I'm married now! Yippee!0 -
Hardy's sparkling wine is on sale at half-price in tesco - £5 a bottle. We are buying that and paying corkage (£10) instead of paying the hotel prices for welcome drinks. It is half-price till March 6 I think.I'm married now! Yippee!0

Hi
Back form Honeymoon, (can't log in on my old user name???). The wedding was wonderful, everything was perfect. It was all over so quickly, everyone said it would fly and they were right.
We have had the photos back and they are great and tonight we are going to my friends to watch the wedding video they did for us.
