    Hi Jess,

I hope your honeymoon location is still intact after the Tsunami, or that you find somewhere else to go. I know someone who was meant to fly to Sri lanka on Boxing Day for a holiday and went to Cuba instead.

We are going to Cuba for our honeymoon, if you have to choose another destination, it is supposed to be brilliant there. Or Antigua is supposed to be a romantic location.

    Hi

We are not sure what is happoning yet, we have to call the travel agents in two weeks time. As some of the Maldives were hit but some of it was ok we could still go if we wanted. I'm a bit unsure at the moment and would rather go somewhere else becasue you just don't know what it is going to be like.

We did look at Cuba when we were booking it so maybe as I haven't been there.

Don't know where we are going to go yet, but as long as my new husband is there and the sun is shinning I will be happy!! ;D

With regards to wedding dresses- it is amazing the bargains you can get if you look around. I ended up with a designer dress that I loved because it was shop soiled and after hand washing it came up beautifully.

That was in 1982 and I still have it in the wardrobe for sentiments sake. :):)

I am getting so fed up of waiting to see my dress again! I ordered it in August and it is not going to be ready until May and they don't even have a picture of it on the website (Eternity).

I want to see it again!

Eternity are very reasonable as well. Mine had a ticket price of £900 in the shop but when I got in contact with Eternity directly it was only £650 (so I have bought it through a different shop!). However, it didn't look out of place among the other £900 dresses. It is gorgeous!

I have had my dress made and I am picking it up next Friday, its so exciting! I have no idea what it will look like finished as the only pictures I have are the ones in my head! It looked great when I saw it a couple of weeks ago and she was going to put the detail on it over Christmas!

Only three weeks to go!!! ;D

All sorted we are going to Sharm El Sheik in Egypt. Got a very nice 5* hotel and it cost half as much as the Maldives so with the money we have saved we are going to save up some more and try and go there for our first aniversary, I think I will book it up when we get back!

Poor travel agent though we were there for nearly two hours looking at different places we could go!
  • Message to nh re doing your own stationery:

I'm doing that same thing and I got my stationery from a seller on eBay called Brothersleep, who's a printer by trade - he was very helpful and sent me samples of several different types of card, and I ended up with ivory linen 260gsm for the outsides and matching linen paper (not sure of weight, maybe 100gsm?) for the inners.  The card goes through both my and my fiance's HP Deskjet printers (mine a 710C, his a 5550) no problem.  Not sure that you'd do so well with 300gsm though.  The seller warned me off using 160gsm, saying that it was a bit flimsy, and having followed his advice I'm very happy with the card and paper I've got.

The card was 10p per A4 sheet (enough for 2 invitations, and doing them A6 size means that you can also use standard C6 size envelopes) and I think the paper was 5p per sheet - plus postage costs, of course.

If you score down the centre of the card with a knife (on the outside of the fold) then it folds quite neatly. It doesn't look 100% professional but I doubt whether anyone will notice - or care!

For our thank-you notes we're going to use the same card cut down to postcard size (but sent in an envelope) and with a wedding photo on one side, probably framed with the same border that we're using on the invitations.

I also got some nice little favour boxes (which I'll put computer-printed stickers on so that they'll double as place name cards) from an eBay seller - another printer - called georgeabc. He told me that he often uses eBay to test the market and see what sells. The auction lot was only 50 of them but he sold me another 100 at the same price.
