Hi all,
We're getting married in May 2012 and I am currently looking at venues as most places have said they will honour 2010 prices if we book this year! I am looking for places in Warwickshire near Warwick/Southam way.... Currently I have my heart set on Menzies Welcombe hotel at stratford for the the reception but was wondering if anyone had any other cheaper suggestions??
Thanks in advance0 -
Oh My God - I forgot just how fab this website is!! Haven't been on here for ages as I have a teething 15 month old I work full time and I haven't slept since 1987!! Anyway......after some help please - can anyone tell me where I can hire some round wedding tables big enough to sit six or eight people round? We, as most people, are having a budget wedding (OH has said £2k) and so we are having a church wedding which is important to me but that is £520!! But hey ho you have to prioritise on what you want don't you? OHs second marriage my first. Unfortunately his ex wife has left us in lots of debt she was a blonde size 10 prada wearing lady I am a brunette/grey size 16 Primark wearing bird lol!! We are still paying off the big loan they took out for their wedding £20k for do £3k for honeymoon!!!! So thankfully we know someone with a fab restaurant near us and that is where we will b going after the church ceremony. Unfortunately it is a restaurant just on a high street so no photo ops but I really want it to look like a wedding and not a restaurant if you know what I mean. I have got a great deal of 89.99 for 70 seats covers with sashes on ebay. My brother works for a chocolate company so that is the wedding favours sorted and he is paying to hire a mercedes on the day as our wedding gift which is fabulous bless him. Restaurant is doing food for us at cost which as you can all imagine has saved us £1000s literally!! The tables in the restaurant are square and we are looking for rounds ones to make it more weddinggyyy. We have prices up doing some round table tops ourselves but the costs would be around 300+ as we would have to get quite thick material to hold the weight. so I was wondering if anyone else could point me in the direction of round tables or table tops? We are getting married in April next year (am 40 in the May so will be using a week in May in Greece as honeymoon, 40th celelbrations and last time our son can go free as he is 2 in the June and we will have to pay for him from then onwards and even better than that my parents are out there for a fortnight at the same time so we will have babysitters. FANTASTIC). Wow I can type a lot can't I lol. Thanks for any help or ideas.0

Many marquee hire companies do furniture hire as well. May be worth a look if you havent already.
I have not quite had time to read all 103 pages so apologies if I am repeating but I recently got a stack of wedding mags from a car boot sale for the amazing price of 10p each! It pains me to pay £4-odd for a magazine full of dresses I cant afford and would have no inclination to purchase but I had a read of these bargainous items and chopped them up for my mood board. Hi everyone - have been given a link to this company which seem fab but after reading through reviews on another wedding link on here about a rogue wedding company I thought I would ask about these guys. Has anyone used this company for themselves? They are incredibly cheap and say that they have been established since 2004 but I cannot find any reviews for them via Google. If anyone has dealt with them can you let me know as I don't want to waste my money if they are just a cheap let down. Thanks everyone in advance0

Hello!
I can't believe I have only just found this site! I have spent the last 18 months looking around for my own money saving tips and this could have saved me so much time!! Anyway, I'm getting married in February and here are a few of my tips!
Venue - Avenue House, Finchley, North London - if you are looking for a London venue, this is perfect - very reasonably priced especially during the week and it is licensed so you can have the ceremony there too. The garden is huge and would be beautiful for photographs on a sunny day!
Food - we're going for fish+chips being delivered from the Chippie round the corner from Avenue House!
Cake - like most money savers we're going for the M&S jobby!
Again like a lot of people have said, get as many favours of friends and family - my friend's Dad has an old Morgan so she is driving me to the wedding. Another two friends are qualified a qualified make-up artist and hairdresser so that's near enough a grand saved there! - Don't be afraid to ask people - your friends really do want to help make your special day, special!
BHS are brill for bridesmaids dresses and regularly have sales so you can pick them up dirt cheap.
For the honeymoon we're going to the Carribbean but booked the flights and hotel separately -(another favour from a friend as we know someone who works for BA so got a discounted flight!) and contacting the hotels direct and letting them know we were coming on honeymoon, they gave us a discount / free upgrade too!
We're having mini cupcakes on cake stands as table centre pieces so combining the decoration and food saves too!
For the invitations I used Vistaprint.co.uk - they have sales and offers on all the time, just look everyday around the month you want to get them printed and you'll be able to get them printed dirt cheap!
For favours we have gone for Cancer Research Pin badges, at only £1 each they're reasonably priced and all the money goes to a good cause too which is a nice touch.
My wedding dress has come from Debenhams (but I understand they're bridal department has closed down now!?) - I was very lucky as the dress fitted perfectly!
Happy bargain hunting!0
