Balls, I have just looked at your clicky, and I got the wrong spy! You might get the type you want on the websites that I suggested tho. Sorry! :silenced:

Thank you for your help though!! I've had a look on those sites and can't see anything :( Might have to re-think the design... Anyhow, plenty of time! Not even booked the venue yet...

[QUOTE=Also,_I'm_going_to_make_my_own_invitations,_and_would_like_something_similar_to_these - i.e. a square pocket with pull-out inserts containing all the information... Does anybody know where I can buy plain white pockets from?? I've had a look on madaboutcards and Hobbycraft websites, but as I'm not sure of the "proper" name, I've had no luck!

Can you use CD sleeves? Type in 'card CD sleeve' on ebay and loads pop up, they look like what you are after but not sure what size you want :)

It's a shame I can only "thank" you once!! You're a genius!!! :kisses:

You know, it's funny, when I typed my original post I was going to describe them as being similar to CD Sleeves and it never even occurred to me!!

Edited to add: This is the sort of thing I'm going for.

Not even booked the venue yet, so a way off, but wanted to get an idea of price. This was the first link I've found so sure I can get them cheaper. Our theme is black and white, so going to get a bit of thick black ribbon to wrap round with maybe a thinner bit of white ribbon with some beads on over the top, and then print the inserts off on a heavy-ish white paper on my home PC and cut to size, then put a single hole-punch in the top and loop a small bit of black ribbon through.

I work for a design agency and am in charge of ordering supplies, so sure I can sort something with my boss and get materials dirt-cheap from our suppliers :)

Haha, glad I could help. I got married last year with a teeny budget and a huge guest list so I'm up on all the tricks now  Your invitation idea sounds fab, good luck with it all :)

Were Deli 1901 good price-wise? I know theyre food is good so just wondering how much they cost? :)
    Thanks

    HI there
Deli 1901 are great in that they don't have a 'set menu' the guy there will tailor the menu to your cost. We found him really easy going, we trusted him from day one. An example of a cost is wedding cake. I wasn't having one as they are stupidly expensive - I mentioned this to him and he offered to do a cake for £25! HIs wife is an EXCELLENT pastry chef, in the end we had 3 cakes, all different, for £75. We paid a little more for a stand and I also opted to buy a flower display for each cake to kind of tie them in together. Everyone loved it, we had a carrot cake, a choc cake and a wheat free orange one. At night time we had pizza and got the cake cut up and served with the pizza. However as for meals 1901 will ask what you want to spend and bring it in at that price for you, he will be honest if it is acheivable.
In the end we paid £25 a head but everything was freshly cooked on the day and NOTHING came out of a freezer or box and you could tell. He also got us champagne at a good deal, he won't 'hard sell' you anything, I found him great to give us advice etc. If you are thinking about it I would say give them a call and go in and meet him and see how it goes, you would be under no obligation so there's nothing to lose!

Please can someone give me a bit of advice please i am getting married in august next year and trying to start organising im a little confused regarding the whole after the service part do you have to have a wedding breakfast before the reception my mum says yes o/h says no

My only advice on this is that you don't HAVE to do anything. There will always be people saying 'oh but you MUST have this/that/the next' seriously do the bits you and your partner WANT to do, otherwise you can tie yourself up in pleasing other people and not enjoying your day.
  • Wow, there's just soooo much to think about!! We just booked up on Sunday to get married in St Lucia in Sept 2011. Hadn't even thought about most of the things everyone is discussing in this thread. My dad has decided we will have the party on our return in the Bowling Club where he is a member so at least the venue will be in a decent hall with cheap drink

My concern just now is that I've seen two gorgeous Maggie Sottero dresses on her website and I can't find a price anywhere. They're from her Destinations range as this seems to be a good idea as they're lighter weight. Dresses SD5204 and SD5230 on the website. I've e-mailed the only supplier in Glasgow but I don't even know if they stock the dresses.

Does anyone know where I would be able to find the prices as some US websites are showing them at $125-$300 which seems unrealistic and I'm concerned they will be bad copies!! Any ideas???

i always thought the reception is where you meet your guests to have the wedding breakfast, a breakfast being the first meal the happy couple have after they are married
but as someone else says, in terms of your day you can have what you want
I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p
