Ah I'm just over acting, it's still in the planning stages and I'm not enjoying it anymore! I'll get over it ;-) (Although you have made me panic about the photographer now!)
Oh and my mother in law is lovely, want to share?Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
Fritha try not to worry about the photographer, just make sure you communicate well with her and make sure she knows all your wishes and what shots you want, etc.
I have the mil from hell, she tried to ruin our wedding, she even tried to plan the stag doshes a very strange woman. We wanted to get dd baptised the following day (so all the family that had travelled to be with us could be there) but she made us cancel it as she intended to spend the day getting !!!!!!. Dh is really lovely, just a shame about his mother. We dont talk to her anymore.
She didnt come to the wedding as we had to postpone it due to an emergency, and guess what, she didnt come-her own choice.:T
:T
Wish i had a lovely mil though, feels like a bereavement sometimes:sad:0 -
Rachie B and Fritha thank you for your thoughts!
Went back to the venue yesterday and took my mum. I'd forgotton how lovely it was! Thing is they started to mention things like "the prices will be going up by 7% next year" etc so we thought sod it... we'll do it this year on a different day and have Christmas and NY abroad on our honeymoon!
Sorry Fritha, I just can't NOT have it there and I can't wait to be Mrs OH!
So it's booked! Sunday 16th December 2007. 305 days to go!!
Argh!
Where do I go from here?! x x0 -
Yay, well done Vicktoria! It is a gorgeous venue, you'll have a fabulous wedding!
Now you start planning everything! I recommend making lists of everything you need to organise and starting from the beginning! (Not much help I know but I don't think I know what on earth I'm doing!)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
what does everyone think about getting personalised postcards printed as save the dates? that way we don't have to buy envelopes and can write a personalised message as well?0

I think it's an excellent idea. Vistaprint.co.uk are having another one of their sales (someone else mentioned this site on this forum a while back). You can get 100 free postcards, just pay P&P, but they also do mini fridge-magnets which are really nice (25 free, although then you'll need to buy the envelopes too).
We didn't bother with save-the-dates, just sent text messages to all our friends/cousins/etc and called our grandparents and told them over the phone. No-one minded and they'll all get an invitation 3 months before the wedding, so that will make it formal.0 -
Any good ideas for what to put on them? I'd like something a bit more personal than just "Save The Date, Vicki and Richard are getting married on xxxx, invitation to follow"! Any touching phrases or couple of lines you lot can think of (you stars!)0

I ordered 100 of those postcards the other day from vistaprint, opted for slow mail so should arrive in a couple of weeks. Only cost £3.65 for 100 postcards...they have a few templates to choose from already if you type in wedding, once you get to the postcard page.
I just had save the date at the top, and the date of the wedding, then underneath the black and white pictures we have, Grainne and Peter would like for you to save this date to attend our wedding. Formal invitation to follow..just kept it simple and a black and white photo of a bride on the back and room to write addresses, but might just print the addresses onto stickers.
Wasn't intending on sending these cards but as our wedding is in the middle of august, we didn't want people booking holidays.0
