Hello,
** Debenhams "Debut" range of Dresses, fab for Bridesmaid about £50-£70 each some lovely iridescent fabric shades.
** Shop round for florists, prices can vary enormously.
** Lots of favours available on eBay, boxes etc especially good as P&P cheap.
** If little significant difference in price, then consider buying your Wedding Dress as local as possible as you'll need to visit numerous times for fittings & petrol can add up.
Wish I'd know all the above tips for my big day xxxxxNever-too-dizzy-too-learn

Hello,
When I got married, I actually initially saw "my Dress" on line. I'd traipsed round a few Birdal shops, some of which appeared to consider they were doing me a favour even acknowledging me & looked me up & down as though I weren't good enough to kiss their feet, you know the ones. Anyway, feeling somewhat dispondent, I was browsing on Confetti website for other wedding items & saw my Dress featured on a model. It was made by a company called Tous les Jours & when I telephoned them, they were very helpful & sent me fabric swatches & identified a relatively local shop that sold it. The Dress was technically not a Dress as it was a Bodice & Skirt, however the overall effect was of a Dress.
Now to the important bit, the Dress, consisting of Bodice, Skirt & detachable Train was under £400 with fitting charges included. The detail on the Bodice was amazing & I received many compliments on it on the day.
Years later when my son was Christened, as something personal to myself & DH, I took the Bodice pattern into the Cake Shop & they matched the decoration of the cake accordingly.
Oh my, I think I'm going to Blub, just off to get my wedding photos out now...............xxxNever-too-dizzy-too-learn

Hello fellow kind soul money savers,
When our Son was Christened, my Husband & I wanted a personal touch to the Cake decoration - well more me being girly and what not. We'd already saved a tier of our Wedding Cake for this future Special Day. So, I took the tier of our Wedding Cake into a local Cake Shop along with the pattern from my wedding Dress bodice, which had also coordinated with my Husband's waistcoat. The Cake Shop replicated the pattern on the perimeter of our Son's Christening cake accordingly. It looked lovely on the day and also evoked special memories from our wedding. Using that tier was also well Money Saved. Best Wishes to you all xxNever-too-dizzy-too-learn

I'd set my heart on having British Heart Foundation roses as buttonholes and favours for everyone as I thought it would be a nice gesture having had heart disease in OH family in the past. However they don't do them anymore!!
Any other charity flowers out there? Marie Cury do daffs dont they but I'm having a winter wedding so they wont really go. Help!0 -
