Why is our house not even attracting viewings?

I would put it down to the dated decor, poor pictures and the price.0

Subjectively, I don't find the architecture of the house to be aesthetically pleasing, but I appreciate there is very little you can do about that.
Once inside I hope potential buyers can see beyond the busy decor. Yes, as pointed out by others, your choice of colours, fabrics, furniture and decoration is not to everybody's taste. BUT, if I were a potential buyer I'd be more concerned about the state of the walls - yours look good to me. Someone should be able to redecorate to their own taste without having to call the plasterers in, or spend every weekend stripping woodchip wallpaper. Kitchens and bathrooms sell houses. Unfortunately both your kitchen and bathroom look tired, as a potential buyer I would mentally add up a cost of circa £15,000 to replace. However, looking a bit closer, your bathroom isn't actually all THAT bad - I think the installation of a new shower screen and a decent quality blind could just pull you through (I'd also chuck out the sad looking plant on the windowsill, or at least repot it in a more vibrant and appealing pot). I'd also look to add a bit more colour in there with some bright accessories (blinds or plant pots, perhaps?). I think the kitchen is a lost cause, sorry. I'd look at comparable houses in the same area which need very little work doing (i.e. those with both a clean and modern kitchen and bathroom), whatever their asking prices are I'd initially deduct £10K to work out what you should be asking for and see if that generates some interest. If not, I'd keep reducing £5K lumps until interest increases.0 -
Yikes, I just bought my house in the east midlands which is almost exactly the same size and layout, with a newer kitchen and bathroom and all neutral decor for half your initial asking price.
The south is crazy!0 -
I like the style of the house from outside, but whats that brown square in front of the driveway? Looks like mud??, The front needs more ''kerb appeal''.
The kitchen would put me off straight away, not so much the paint or curtains.
Get the Estate agent to take some decent photos that show off the lounge!
Thats about it, oh yes the price, I wouldnt want to pay that price knowing I would have to fork out to modernise it.0 -
