I read a thread recently on police Specials forum, 6 people replied, 1 civilian and 5 officers. The only poster who read the original question fully and correctly was the civilian, now thats not good seeing as they have to remember minor detail.
There are some excellent Police officers out there but unfortunately there are some arrogant arrest happy ones which give the force a bad name.

At the end of the day, there are some good police, there are some bad police, and there are some downright waste of space police. Same as everywhere in life.
I personally have not seen much of the good police. Now, I'm not saying they exist, but when you're pulled up for speeding for apparently doing 90 in a 60 limit, when you definately were only doing 60 and your car is physically only capable of doing 85 (this was a manual reading apparently, not from any faulty equipment), you tend to worry ever so slightly. Yes, this did happen to me personally.
And no, the policeman was ONLY bothered about checking myself and my car were legal - they couldn't give a poo that I was lost at the time and couldn't find my way back home (80 miles away) due to closed roads, refusing to give me directions then clearing off leaving me extremely annoyed, lost and severely lacking any confidence in the police.
Now, all police definately aren't like that, but its these ones that people hear about, and these ones that give them a bad name.0 -
The time of offence will have been recored and if you speak to you airtime provider they will tell you and produce a statement of the times that phone was usedNon Gradus Anus Rodentum!0

Hi everyone
Have sent apperwork back pleading not guilty but as yet have not heard anything back. That was almost 3 weeks ago - the alleged incident happened on the 19 October 2006 which is over 6 months ago now - can anyone advise me if this can still be pursued by the courts?
Many thanks0 -

hi madmax2,Ive decided to go to court with my case too.
after trawling the internet i come across this on the governments road safety website.
http://www.thinkroadsafety.gov.uk/advice/mobilephones.htm
note faq 4 which says that your mobile phone records will be used in court to prove that you were using your phone.
I will be taking a copy of this to court with me as my main defence & recommend you do so too.
I welcome any comments regards matthew0 -

Have a look at the following website:
http://www.pepipoo.com/
Though this mainly deals with speeding and parking tickets, there are a lot of ideas as to how to get justice.
Here is another web page with a list of solicitors around the country specialising in motoring cases:
http://www.abd.org.uk/solicitors.htm
Should you win the case in the end, make a complaint to the Police Complaint Authority about that particular officer and ask for him to get his eyes tested!0 -
Hi thanks for all your responses. Just to update banger9365 we have already received the summons - received it approx 5 and 1/2 months after the incident. Sent it back pleading not guilty about 3 weeks ago but haven't heard anything yet - just waiting for a new date.
Just wondered matthewmps have you got details of both outgoing and incoming calls from your network provider as we have only got the outgoing calls itemised on the phone bill - when I rang the Network they told me that they didn't hold information on incoming calls - I bet if the Police rang them they would be able to access it!! Are you using a solicitor?
Let you know when we hear back from the Courts0
