Car is a 1.4 but says 1.6 on the boot

The 1.6 on the boot is as relevant as you scrawling on a piece of paper that it's a Tornado Fighter Jet and sticking it in the glovebox.0

Some cars say 'powered by fairy dust' - do you also think the insurance company would use this to get out of a claim?0

IMHO Sunflower could be correct...
Making a car look more powerful than it is and therefore potentially more desirable to thieves COULD be used by the insurer to get out of paying a claim... Ok perhaps less of a risk on the OP's Meriva than say a Citroen Saxo / Vauxhall Corsa but insurance co's don't need much of a reason....
Is it worth taking the risk?
As for the "Tornado Fighter Jet" a) it wouldn't be on display to would be thieves and b) anyone woulde know from looking at the car that it wasn't a Tornado... same with "Fairy Dust".A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -
Wonder what the MPG is on this "Fairy Dust"?0

A mate of mines had a 1.2 Nova a long time ago. He had an SR tailgate on it which stated Vauxhall Nova 1.3SR. He had an accident. The insurance assessor 'advised' him to get the 1.3SR part off it pronto.0
