Mr AJM is going away today until Friday of next week. I am using that time to challenge myself and see how frugal I can be. The biggest outlay will be driving to my mum's for the the weekend but at least once I am there I don't need any money.

Spend today of £2.15 on some fruit which came out of cash in my purse. I now have enough to get me to Friday when I go to my mum's. I have until then to update my inventories and meal plan so I can get my shopping on the way home. I am definitely more away of my shopping costs when it is coming from my own account!

I was full of the best of intentions to get things done while Mr AJM is away but I haven't done anything. The house is far too quiet! Tomorrow I will need to set myself targets.

Very excited, £co has finally confirmed a life insurance purchase from October last year for £120 :j shame it has missed the payment for this week. I am going to pay it straight to the mortgage so there will be a nice healthy payment this week.

Does anyone who is a bit more clued up on the OP malarky know if it makes a difference drip feeding the OPs through the month or OPing a lump sum? I will continue to transfer the money when I have it but I am curious.

I have managed to cut the grass today but nothing else yet.

We now own 20% of our house and next month will gain another 1% :j I seem to be working with so many spreadsheets that I am never sure which my next goal is. I am going to put them in to a word document or add a new spreadsheet page so I know what total to aim for next.

I still have to put my claims in for my work trip which should help me stay on budget for this month for my own spending. I had to fill my car with fuel yesterday which was not cheap, if I top it up when I get back from my mum's I am hoping that will be all I need for the rest of the month. My current budget is now down to £5 a day for the rest of the month without the £47 that will come back from work.

We drip feed our mortgage as we are on daily interest, plus I like to watch the penny's come off the spreadsheet

On my own mini holiday at my mum's while Mr AJM is away. He is going to Verona today, I am going to Durham to see the Lindisfarne gospels and see their gala. Last night we had Chinese takeaway, don't remember when ee last had that but it confirmed that my cooking is cheaper and better.

On the way home tomorrow I am meeting the girls for an alternative style birthday celebration, we are going fruit picking. Planning on doing a few things for the freezer for when DH gets home. Birthday girl will be getting HM date and walnut loaf with a ribbon tied around it, the cost is about £1 but the sentiment is worth far more :D

    Enjoy the sun everyone x
