I so need to start running again. Have become sooo lazy, was doing really well and me and DH used to g for a run every sat morning and got up to 7.5 mile and then we bought this house and havent run since (about 3 years) and I dont think I could do 5 minutes now. I think Ill have to start doing 1-2 minute interval training at gym...

Well done on meal planning, Ive hit a low so your thread will get me back on track.

I am following a plan from the asics website and it is really manageable as it starts from really slow!

Mr AJM has just used a £25 M & S gift card to buy 4 days worth of meals, a dessert and some essentials for the weekend. We have just received another £25 one for switching to sky and have a money off coupon for their chinese meals from today's shopping so we are going back tomorrow to stock up on those. We already have dinner in for today and tomorrow and I bought a dessert and essentials too as Mr AJM wasn't answering his phone! I am hoping that this along with a couple of meals in the freezer will see us to the end of the month with maybe only a top up shop to do :D

It will give me the next week to plan meals for next month and work out how much the groceries will cost for it!

Dinner was left over rosemary and balsamic chicken in a quick gravy with potatoes and cabbage, very nice and quick. Finished it off with an apricot tart which was free so tasted so much better and have enough left for tomorrow.

Not sure I will have much to OP this month or put into my ISA but I always knew it would be a tight month. I have an expensive course to pay for next month so any money left will go towards that, I am sure 1 month won't make too much difference to our MF date.

Currently looking for ideas for our summer holiday while watching Martin's programme on holidays. We don't even know where to start looking this time so I feel I am fighting a losing battle.

Lovely day here today. Going out on Mr AJM'S motorbike to change some shirts he bought yesterday and to stock up with our other M&S voucher. Got a couple of possible destinations in mind for our summer holiday now so will pick up a brochure too for hotel ideas. Then a trip to a lovely little cafe for a cup of tea.

Nothing happened as we planned today. Got ready for a day on the bike but it wouldn't start as the battery was dead though not fully as the light still came on. So we got changed and decided to go further north to an outdoor shop for Mr AJM to buy some new walking boots, I am proud of myself as I didn't buy anything. Came home via M&S, didn't have the correct shirts in the right size so Mr AJM got a refund. We looked at the chinese meals in the deal voucher we had but didn't like anything so decided not to waste the gift card, will buy something else another time. Got travel brochures and then came home to have a cup of tea rather than pay in a cafe. We did have lunch out though so not a completely free day. Mr AJM has just bought a battery charger online so he can recharge the battery himself when it arrives and in the future.

I have booked my car for its service and first MOT for Tuesday. I have some new wiper blades which I need to put on before it goes in and I want to double check Martin's tips so it costs me as little as possible. I have put some money aside each month towards the cost of this so I hope it will cover it.

We had planned to go on holiday to Crete or Cyprus, last night got the idea of Tunisia but were still undecided as we didn't want the heat to zap us. So what have we done...decided to go to Egypt where it is hotter still. We may live to regret the decision but it is the first place we have both been happy with (location and hotel) and we have wanted to go for a few years. We are going to go for 10 days all inclusive and it is costing about the same as 7 days half board in the other locations. Now we just need to save the balance...and money for a ski/winter holiday, then all we need to do is save for the 3 week trip to Asia that we want to do next summer.

No worries, I vaguely remember someone else having a thread name the same when I made mine up!

The only thing stopping us being MF earlier is our hollidays but hey we still have to live! We are quite excited and we haven't booked it yet.

Been for a 2 mile run today and quite enjoyed it. My main aim for fitness is to have a stronger back as I need it stronger for work but also improve my all-round fitness and tone up with hopefully an added bonus eventually of losing a few pounds. However I know it didn't go on overnight so will take a while to work off too.

We go on holiday 100 days today and I am even more excited as one of my friends who I don't see very often is going to be in Egypt at the same time as us so we should be able to meet up.

    Off to check my banking.

    Current nectar points balance: £90.76

We have just had a discussion and have decided to only go away for 7 nights in the summer so Mr AJM isn't so tired when he goes back to work and to save some extra pennies towards our Christmas holiday or Asia next year. Unfortunately after getting excited about seeing my friend it looks like it will not happen but we have also talked about using the money to fly down to them for a weekend and stay in a hotel. It makes sense really, it was costing us the same per night for 7 nights as 10 but obviously no flights in the extra 3 days so was quite expensive. We are also concerned that there might not be enough to do and we would rather go back another time instead.

Car MOT and service today, no work needed so cost me £165, I have saved up £332 as that was the cost last year. Need to transfer the cost to my current account, the remaining amount will pay for my course next month which eases any money issues. Still going to save the same amount for next year as I can't believe I will be that lucky 2 years in a row.

Gym again today, cycling and weights session. Now waiting for dinner to finish cooking, beef hot pot tonight.
