Day off today. Nipping in to work this morning to use the gym (first time in 4 weeks) and 2 hours of paperwork to catch up. Need to go shopping. Also need to finish composition, nearly done but deadline was extended until Monday and I was so tired last night I decided to have a break. Looking forward to a weekend offMFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I went to the gym and ran 2.5 miles this morning so I feel I have achieved something today. Measured myself earlier and the figures are still the same as last week which is a relief. I would like to lose 1 inch everywhere over the next 4 weeks, I'm not sure how realistic this is but I am aiming to exercise 5 times a week so I think it is manageable. I lost 2 lbs last month and I only exercised for the first 2 weeks so it is encouraging. I normally don't really mind about my weight but it is annoying seeing friends put their weight on fb when they are over 2 stone lighter than me. I think if I could get back below the 11 mark I would be happy but it will be a long journey so I am not going to stress out about it.
Have been shopping and just put it away. I need to make out rolls up and put them in the freezer for next week but can't be bothered. I was shocked at the price of meat in the supermarket, I think I may need to consider where we shop. :eek:MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Hi aj, well done on the exercise :T Do you have an aldi nearby? as I've recently switched to there for everything and it is fantastic, I currently have lettuce in the fridge that I bought a week ago that still looks fresh, so no problems with quality and its so ouch cheaper than the biggies.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Yes, maybe I should do more shopping there. I like their fruit and veg but they don't always have a huge selection of meat. Saying that, there wasn't much of a selection in the supermarket today.nattypants wrote: »I am always in awe of people who can run (or even jog) for any distance AJ:T whenever I have tried in the past, I've felt like my heart will explode:eek:

I am not particularly good at running, I am quite slow.
Not a massive reduction on the mortgage compared to some on here.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Had everything put into perspective last night. Found out one of the guys I work with had a heart attack on Friday. He is only 36 has a wife and 2 children of 5 and 3 (it was the youngest's birthday). He has lost about 5 stone over the last 18 months and does loads of running.
Anyway, inspired by Tilly I want to spend 5 minutes in the equivalent of our attic. Also need to do the ironing and sort a couple of things for work.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Can I get your ideas on the following please?
My S&S ISA is doing amazingly well at the moment and I am putting in £170 a month. However my cash ISA has taken a massive battering as it the only easy cash I have access to so before I started budgetting better I dipped into it quite a lot. I am wondering about paying a small fee into the S&S ISA and topping up the cash one for a while. To let you know what I am dealing with, I have £23,600 in S&S and £2,800 in the cash one. I am less likely to need to access the money now that we save more regularly for our holidays but I am concerned that if I do need any cash that it will take a while to sort it out.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I think I am going to start Tilly-tidying my current account to my ISA to help boost the funds. I will then try and sweep and left over money at the end of the month to the ISA too. I will see how fruitful that is and then make a decision on the S&S ISA. If the interest rates were better I would try my own version of offsetting and put all the OPs there but as they are not I am going to try and keep chipping away at the mortgage. Only £18k to go and I would be able to clear the smaller mortgage from my own savings although Mr AJM and I could easily get rid of it from our accumulated savings. It is a stupidly low interest rate though which is why we are not.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

£7.39 TT to ISA now done, it is not going to make me a millionaire but it doesn't break the bank either.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Wow, you're doing great with your S&S ISA - I opened one with a pound and still has a pound in it.....
I got scared that it seemed complicated and ended up losing all of my paperwork and online access codes etc... hopefully they will send me some sort of reminder so that I can take another look at it and get sensible.0
