I meant to post on the 18th of last month as that would have been 17 years until we were mortgage free, good job we have already officially knocked 3 months off that target. I would like to be able to make a couple of £500 OPs to knock some more time off but I know we are still chipping away slowly. February 18th was also another significant day as there are no longer any ERCs on our smaller mortgage. We have enough in savings that we could clear that now if we wanted but it is the lower interest rate so we are not too worried and I don't want to lose our buffer zone.

The OPs are not really going as well as I would like but we are on target to pay more off in 3 years for the MFiT challenge than I set so I will consider it an achievment if we can be below £100k on the larger mortgage by the end of the challenge.

We have already managed to reduce our larger mortgage by £1220.86, I guess that is not too bad. I can't wait until the mortgage balance and capital are pretty much the same amount as it means we will be closer to paying more off the mortgage than we are paying to the bank :j

I have to write a short bit of music for a competition as a bit of career progression, the deadline in on Friday and I am struggling with inspiration and motivation. It is a lovely day and I want to be outside...oh well I was given the task over a month ago so I only have myself to blame! MR AJM is going to try and help me so I am hoping we can get it done today.

ETA the prize for the winner is £100, you would have thought that would get me working!

We are £398 away from owning 20% of the house. Once last months OP takes effect on the account we should be just about there :j

  • Have you been inspired yet? If in doubt you could always 'adapt' some classical music, it worked for ALW!

I have got something that takes up half of the time. It is not amazing but it is a start. I have 4 versions of rubbish and I am hoping that something from all of it will work.

A month until we submit our MFiT total. I thought we were on track to meet our minimal reduction but I am not sure, I need to go and check my calculations.

Eek ! Thanks for the reminder, my o/s balance has shot up by tens of thousands, I hope I don't get chucked out.:D

Just updated the MFiT form and I think I should be in the green when FB does the figures which hopefully means the mortgage will be below £100K mark after the 3 years (if we fall slightly short at least we will be close).

Quickly catching up on here and then I need to work on my music for Friday's deadline, I just wish I wasn't so exhausted.
