Just been tidying up my survey accounts. I have £20, a £30 Debenhams voucher and £50 of John Lewis vouchers on their way to me. I am now just waiting for another 725 points on yougov. I was getting close to losing some of my points on some of the sites so thought I should order everything now!MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Mr AJM has just learned about survey accounts (he had only been a member of yougov before). I think my £100 payout over the accounts last night has inspired him!MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I'm thinking of booking the airport lounge at Manchester as a bit of a treat before our main holiday this year.
Do you know of anyway of making it cheaper? and I'm guessing you would recommend it.Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

We generally pay £35-40 for the two of us. I just search a couple of the different holiday sites and then purchase through cashback sites. I have found holiday£xtras to be the best for price. You can go in for up to 3 hours before you fly and can get snacks (normally unlimited) so although it isn't cheaper than the food you may buy at the airport, it is a pleasurable experience before you fly. I hope you find something that works for you.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I didn't get any of this done so will have to be done next weekend when I am back.

Heading back down south todayso now my budgetting/spending diary can start properly for the month. I overspent yesterday on a theatre ticket for Saturday after my music lesson but I am hoping to absorb this with some underspend days during the month. I am aiming for £300 not including train travel and music lessons, if I can get the train travel included over the whole months budget then that will be ideal. I am hoping to stick to £6 a day rather than £10 once I am back anyway. I have already made my lunch for today so I don't need to eat at the airport so just need to buy a cuppa or some water. Also need 2 train fares and a bus fare, some food shopping for breakfast and my dinner tonight, there is no way I will be under £10 today!
Looking forward to being back again next weekend. I need to check my clothes then as we are going out to buy holiday stuff then if needed as I might not be home again before the holiday.
Off to do some surveys before going to the airport.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I am thinking of setting myself some mini-savings challenges, I am wondering whether I could save up the rest of the offset mortgage amount myself. I definitely would not use this to pay it off but I would have very healthy savings for any future career/business ventures after my current career which in turn may help fund any re-training that is required. For the next couple of months I am going to work out what is feasible to save from my current earnings and then I need to look into ways of earning more money. During this time I am going to get some pension advice too, I know I have a good pension but it is always worth seeing what else I can do.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I'm kind of obsessed with it, but the Future Value formula will be your friend for looking at how regular payments will translate into a lump sum0

This pension stuff mean much to me at the moment but I'm sure it all will eventually! My pension is automatically arranged with work and traditionally no one has ever bothered doing anything else.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I was more meaning that you can use FV to play about with different outcomes for trying to save up the remaining offset amount?0
