It has been an expensive day at the garage
I presume the car has been expensive and not you passing the time
Mine was expensive too last month, mainly due to the free service/MOT deal running out, so first time I have had to pay for them, plus brake pads and 2 new tyresMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

£576.86 worth of bad  the main cost was brakes and pads. I had £332 saved up already :money: and it just means that the extra money that was going into savings now won't! The issues were advisories but as I don't use my car very much, I am away from anyone that can help me if I get stuck and I would forget that they may doing I decided to fork out for everything now in the hope that the service next year will not cost so much. I will just be making sure that I am clever with my spending for the next week so that I can cover the bill without having to raid any other accounts. The good thing is I put it on my credit card bill and have missed this month's statement so now don't have to pay it until mid-JuneMFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Hoping for a low spend day today as I am working in London and the food will be quite affordable. 100 year Gallipoli celebrations, looking forward to watching it back on TV when we get back later.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Seeing as I have £27 in my purse with absolutely no way I will spend it all this evening I have moved all of this months remaining money across into my ISA...a grand total of £8.05. However I have already but the money onto my credit card to pay off the rather larger MOT and servicing bill from last week and that is what was left so I have done very well. Tomorrow I get to move all the money into the various pots and work out what I have to live on for the month. This will be made easier when I have a look at my spending diary to work out where I spent this month's money. I think I have £18 a day with the money that is left after bills, I am planning on somewhere between £5-10 depending on what I eat during the day.
It seems a shame that I am sending less across to the mortgage at the moment, especially as my ISA interest rate is a lot lower that the mortgage rate but I want to boost my savings a lot first. I also want to see if I can do anything with Mr AJMs money so we can both contribute to the mortgage, but that he is happy that he can afford it as I know he worries a lot about where his money is going.
I think I am doing very well though considering I am running a house in Scotland and paying my way down here while I am working away. Next month I have almost two weeks at home to look forward to :jMFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

All the money has been moved to the various pots. As expected I have £18 a day max to spend this month so my challenge is to aim for under £10 a day. If I need to spend more it will have to come from another day which hopefully will mean I have another £260ish to transfer to savings at the end of the month
last month I managed to save about £988 between my cash and S & S ISA.
I have a trip away with work today so am going to try and tot up last months spends on the coach. I will have over £10 spend today but some of it will be claimed back.
Flying home rather early tomorrow morning for the weekend...my train is at 0456  and my train tickets etc are going to send me over the daily spend but hopefully by the end of the week it will balance itself out.
I think from next month I will up the amount that gets transferred to my ISA as it seems I can manage without it. I am well aware that I may not be able to sustain my current spending but I am hoping to keep it going as much as I can while I am living away from home. Then it will be a whole new challenge when I go back home.
In other good news, I may have a tutoring job on the horizon with a local cadet band. I am going along soon to see how I feel about it, wages are currently in negotiation. Once that is up and running I may see about advertising for teaching too to see if I can work on the challenge set to me of earning in teaching what I spend on food a monthMFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

My spending diary is still going well, I think I have managed to stick to my spending plan so far this month. However I have joined a gym this afternoon so there will be a bit less money going into my savings at the end of each month. I have been considering it for a while and although the one I have chosen is more expensive than I had planned I am quite comfortable there. I keep picking up injuries at the moment so I am looking forward to having a plan to stick with and then chill out in the spa after. I am going to start keeping a tally of when I go so I can work out how much it is costing me each time I go. My local council gym is £7 a time so I will quickly improve on that.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Likewise in my neck of the woods but unfortunately I am working down yonder way at the moment, £7.30 for a casual member at the gym. I am paying a fair but more than £15/mth as I didn't like the atmosphere in the gyms that charge that. Not long back in from a swim, sauna and jacuzzi, I am determined to make the membership work for me.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I have got a spendy day ahead of me tomorrow so I am after a bit of advice. I have a music lesson in London (my first and I am quite scared/nervous), I will get most of this money back and will be paying out for my train ticket, these are unavoidable expenses. Unfortunately I will need to get dinner while I am up there as I will get back too late to think about food here, can anyone recommend a way of eating cheaply in London when you are on your own? I will be in central London and will have access to the tube if I need to travel.
Even though I organised this lesson a month ago I am still very under-prepared but I am hoping tomorrow will be inspirational and give me the kick I need in the own playing.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200
