Can't find any evidence of this account on Nationwide's website. I assume it's no longer available?

From what i've read about this on other threads it will 'reject' the amount over the £250.

I'll thought the same too but the last time I checked the money was still sitting there.

It's no longer open but existing accounts run until October 2013 or thereabouts.

    Why risk it?

You could end up with less than the 6% rate.

I don't want to risk it. That is why I'm trying to find out what the rules are and waiting to see if it bounces back. Plus if there is a chance of getting a lower rate, isn't the damage already done.

It seems that since the Nationwide have withdrawn the issue 1, all I can find are the T & Cs for the new regular saver which allows for deposits of more than £250.
