.coupon-mad he ,she has already faxed this info over all the council need to do is ask newlins

agree the car MUST be returned today
If they ask for a copy of the new ownership proof then tell them you'll come down in person with it straight away as the car MUST be returned today.I am not an expert I am self taught i have no legal training any information I post is based on my own personal experience and information gained from other web sites

Yep I know but I am just thinking that if she phones the Council on a Friday afternoon, the first thing the clerk is going to try and do is take the easy option of saying 'can you just send us the proof then' so he/she can get the person off the phone.
The OP should say 'right then I am bringing it in NOW'. Not ask them to contact Newlyns - if she puts the phone down and expects the Council to jump into action and contact Newlyn themselves, he/she will be waiting all weekend. Need to just go to the Council office within the hour if they won't sort it over the phone. Loulou do not leave the ball in the Council's Court. Be 'in their face' and stay there till the clamp is removed.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes, you'll need to go to the council in person. If you have to take a taxi, keep the receipt and insist they reimburse you for that too.0

A slight aside, it's not a case or removing the clamp, it's getting the car back - sounds like it has been lifted to a pound.
With that in mind OP - check it very carefully for damage when it comes back just in case they have marked the wheels or paint in any way.

Sorry Coupon, just wanted to point this out as you're normally hot on stuff like this and I wonder if you're dealing with two threads at the same time or something?:loulou1978 wrote: »Hi.
However, yesterday i went shopping with my mum in her car and left my car parked at my address and when i returned , it was gone! after calling the police who confirmed that it had been took by a bailif
There is no clamped car, it's been physically taken. Just thought I should point this out in case you're posting different advice to what you intended.0 -
Do bailiffs not have to produce a warrant/recovery order these days? `PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0

Not sure how the system works so please don't flame me, just trying to make some sense of the whole thing. Is it possible that the car was already on the bailiffs inventory and the seller knew this and if so is there a chance that the seller was not supposed to sell the car without permission from the bailiff ie as a way of clearing the debt but had no such permission.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0

Don't be silly, this is Newlyn you are talking about.:rotfl: Warrants??Never heard of such a thing.;)I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Fear not flyer, your suggestion is a good one (and we do get a lot of clamps here so CM is likely to be a bit TFI Friday ...)0
