It's far too long for them too! We had a two week holiday in the middle and my two just get totally fed up - especially with the weather we've had!! And it's not that they're lazy as they're both keen on sport - but their swimming club closed down too - they're usually there every day - and my daughter's netball training closed too. All their friends are on holiday at different times - there's only so much cycling/walking/running you can do in the rain - only so much tv/playstation/facebook you can take. And cinema/bowling etc is good for a one off treat but a bit expensive all the time!0

The holidays have been ok for us apart from this last week, all three of mine are sick of the site of each other and have done nothing but fight and bicker.
I also hate not being in a routine, roll on wednesday :T0 -

I've loved this summer. The best one we've had as a family and am sad they are going back.
I agree with Mrcow about bottling it up and saving it. I've realised I haven't got many of these holidays left, as mine are growing up. Because they have been so fab we have decided to go on a massive adventure next summer and will spend it all in Oz and New Zealand visiting family, just the three of us for most of it. I've already started saving. Can't wait, just a shame we can't synchronise their overeas cousins' holidays to match.0 -
Mine have grown up now but the kids in the street have been screeching and carrying on from 8am till about 10pm...balls hitting the windows, 10 kids at a time descending on the dogs, water balloons all over the place, sweet wrappers everywhere...!
Yeah, I'll be glad when they go back!0 -
We had 7 weeks off - kids went back last Wednesday and my house has been so clean since then, it's great :T I love having them around all day but I dunno where half the mess comes from!
Unfortunately it rained for 3 weeks solid at the start of the hols, so I'm glad it was long enough to make the most of the nicer weather after that.
On one hand, I like not having to get up early and having relaxing days but on the other hand I much prefer having a routine in place, it makes me feel more content

Mine have got almost a week left, I see what you mean about feeling autumnal, I did this morning, there was a chill in the air.
I love autumn too, it's my favorite season.
The mess drives me bananas too and I'm trying to get everyone back into going to bed early ready for school. Unfortunately squeak has just dropped off on my lap whilst we were watching singing hands so I've tucked her up on the sofa so she doesn't sleep too long, if I put her to bed she'd be asleep till 5 then raring to go.

Think yourself lucky! Mine broke up a week early as we live near where a big sporting even was this year and don't go back till the 12th sept as the building work that was suppose to be doing over summer isn't complete!0

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -
