Not long now............!!!!!!!!!!!!

Till the kids go back to school!!! And it cannot come quick enough for me!!!! Don't get me wrong, it has been nice having them home some of the time, we have done lots of bits and pieces and gone out for days etc but this last 2 weeks and I am beginning to have enough! My house is a tip (for my standards it is anyway) every time I try and clean it up, the come and mess it all up worse than before, so I have given up any attempt to keep it really clean and tidy until they go back to school, just no point! This does really test my OCD, as I can see things out of place and things I don't like and am trying to ignore them, keep telling myself come Tuesday I will blitz the house like a woman personified!!!! I guess this is really just a vent :o Or is anyone else feeling the same or is it just me that is a grumpy old moo?:D

On the plus, it is feel incredibly Autumnal at the moment and that has cheered me up no end because I love that time of year:j

But they break up earlier don't they? So still have six weeks off :p I think the summer hols are too long, I think it should be 4 weeks tops then split the other 2 weeks and add them to the other half terms, would be soooooo much better, IMO :D

    I want another 6 weeks off :(

My kids seriously are angels. I wish I could bottle up these holidays and make them last forever. They grow up so quickly.
"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."
  • House in same condition.

6/7 weeks is too long. My brother teaches in a school where they have 4 weeks in the summer and two weeks at half-term instead of one. Far better, and far easier to arrange childcare (thankfully I've passed that stage) and more opportunities to take 2 week holidays.

Yes my house is a tip (for my standards again) but I too have decided that cleaning/tidying is futile until they return to school/college.

    Nearly there :)

Oh I agree, they do grow up too quickly, I feel sad my are no longer babies anymore. It isn't that they are naughty as such, just they are not very good at keeping things tidy and with 3 girls so close they do get catty with each other! God knows where they get it from because I am tidy and always have been, must be some rouge traits they have inherited from someone!:rotfl:

Oh I am so glad I am not the only who thinks that 6 weeks is far too long, I think they should do exactly how you describe as above, would make a lot more sense and be so much more practical.

Oh it is good to hear others are feeling the same as me :D

Oh good, I don't have any kids, but my house is a tip, so I think I'll blame it on school holidays!
