    Debt-free and Proud! Mortgage-free Glee!
if anyone is in the RED,don't worry,it's taken me 4 years to be green

for a rough estimate till FB comes back

Original balance - 16.66% = green or more
    £48515 interest £181 (2009)debt/mortgage-MFIT/T2/T3
    debt/mortgage free 28/11/14
    vanguard shares index isa £1000
    credit union £400
    emergency fund£500
    #81 save 2018£4200
  • It has been an expensive three months! We've had some work done on the house and paid for two holidays and a minibreak... Didn't leave a lot left over for mortgage overpayments :o

Since last update we've paid out £1,429.17 in standard monthly repayments, £970.83 in direct debit regular overpayments, and £320.60 in ad hoc extra overpayments (payday leftovers and a little ebaying and so on).

When I called the mortgage company earlier this morning the balance was £71,544.88, so I've transferred an extra £44.88 from my current account to round it down to £71,500 :D

Wish it was lower, but what can you do, it's not going to disappear overnight, and we do love our holidays! :)

Yes, I'm expecting to be on the red for a while... But we need repairs doing on the house and stuff doing in the house.2014 I expect to be back in the green. :)

  • Posted my update, apologies if I've missed the deadline! Things are very tough at the mo as I'm getting towards the end of my maternity leave. We are 80% of our yearly overpayment target but this is sitting in an isa as it is also the emergency fund. Hopefully we shall catch up pretty quick once I'm earning again.

    Good morning everyone,

Congratulations to Alion and sillysod on your impending bundles of joy. All the very best to you and your families.

I have just updated the form. I am pleased to announce that my mortgage has decreased by over £4,000 in the last quarter. On track and very happy.

All the best to all of you,

  • Minor disaster here - haven't updated and can't remember my security details to check the account online! I'll have to check when I get home and post an update then. Hope that will be ok.

Well done to everyone on progress so far!

  • Stupidly I tried again and got locked out, but at least I have now rung for a balance and I have been able to complete the update form.

Current balance is £90,167.97 so I wish I had made a few extra payments to get it to start with an 8!

Never mind, onwards and (hopefully) downwards!

Can't wait to see the update :T. Wishing FB a safe return from his holiday, hope he's had a fab time and comes back suitably refreshed to do these updates :D.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Ha. I'm good. Got back the middle of last week and been trying to ease back into things. Was the first ever trip abroad for our kids - 9 hour flight and we set the bar far too high with their first trip being Florida.

Unfortunately, and despite me knowing this update was after I got back, I'm a bit unprepared for this update.

I'll try my best to get the chart published this evening, but I suspect it's going to be later rather than sooner.

For the people who have PM'd or are asking in this thread if it's too late to join, as long as you're happy to join, I'll get around to processing your request. May be later in the week - chart updates get priority :D
