Also it's very rude of you to claim that I'm avoiding answering you - the truth is, it's very hard to keep up with your switch and move approach of starting one wild claim, then moving on to another when the answer is not to your liking.
If someone edits their post, it says so at the bottom - just as your post states "Last edited by Martyn1981; Yesterday at 12:59 PM..". My posts do not have this edit time stamp, so it seems you're making things up because you're struggling. Pretty poor sort of debating, if I'm honest.0 -

Not strictly true... I have edited many posts within a short timeframe after posting and none showed the edit time stamp...try it!

I haven't said that I don't agree with paying subsidies, you're building a strawman argument here to help bolster your argument. Another poor debating technique.
I have said all along that I think subsidies paid on a national basis should benefit the nation, not be used to reduce the energy bills of a very few wealthy individuals.
I also believe that my taxes should be used to help people raise their children, but I don't believe that the wealthy should be in receipt of Child Benefit. This has now been addressed somewhat, it's time to look at the uses of other forms of taxation and remove anomolies where tax is taken from poorer people and given to richer people.0 -

No strawmen, just a simple question, why do you choose to support grid tied powerstations owned by large companies, but feel supporting grid tied powerstations owned by householders is wrong. What is the difference? Unless of course you're trying to re-launch Cardew's maths trick (sorry accounting trick) of excluded off-set? Even he finally admitted it was purely theoretical.
Subsidies are subsidies at the end of the day, the only thing that is different about FITs is that it has been extremely successful and the monies go to households rather than large companies.
Quick tip, I'd do some research on FITs and energy subsidies before mentioning strawmen again, or it might come back to bite you.
Mart.

Another strawman. Pathetic.0 -
Hi Everyone
I've just bought the Solarimmersion MkIII. Ordered from their website on Wednesday and it arrived by courier on Friday. Price £250.
Installed it yesterday (I am an electrician with part P), but as my PV (3kW) is currently only generating 200W, no chance to try it out yet. It seems to work!
I've read this thread with interest and the Immersun does seem overpriced, now that these other models have become available.
I live in a rural area with LPG heating and an old 65% efficient (but supremely reliable) boiler, which usually heats our water. I therefore reckon that my 'pay back period' should be quite a bit less than those people with 90% boliers on mains gas.
I'll let you know, once the sun starts to shine again!
How are you getting on with this unit? At £249 it looks worth a puntFrom my own monitoring there is no way I can soak up the excess power even on a cloudy day [bar Dec & Jan]

One wonders if any electricity will be going back into the national grid. Remind me, why am I paying extra on my enegy bills for green energy generation that I will never get to see?0

Does it matter?
The energy used is created onsite therefore offsetting imported electricity... I don't believe there is any obligation to export.
No gas here in the countryside.
Cheers
PS When I first got solar pv many people took advantage of a free export meter then minimised useage to get more than the 50% deemed export at 3.1p. Guess what the NIMBYS were not happy...
Now with the DHW solar heating controllers chatter on forums seems to have died down about export meters but yet again the NIMBYS are up in arms about export...
Which is it?0 -

Why are you using the word NIMBYS in this instance, it doesn't make sense. NIMBYS is "Not In My Back Yard", so unless your neightbours compained about the way you export energy to the national grid, then clearly the word doesn't apply.
I'd suggest you substitute the word "The Fuel impoverished".0
