My solarimmersion has stopped working again with exactly the same symptoms as before the repair, it has lasted a little over 18 months.. Wont be buying another unless I get a good offer for a replacement. Thinking of the no frills Solic 200.. at least it has a 10 year return to base guarantee.
Any one got a view on the Solic 200 ?

This article on the REUK site describes the system we have. The photos are from our installation.

Some of the description is slightly wrong, (we have a 1.2kW immersion element via a 3kW dimmer, so we can adjust the maximum power taken on dull days) but it works a treat and provides all the hot water we need from April till September.

The device only cost £30, plus a case to put it in. Within the 1st year, it paid for itself!

No real joy from Solar Immersion who offered me a 10% discount on a new one. They suggested that maybe the fault was being caused by high power surges. Decided on the Solic 200 no display or secondly load but never used that on the SolarImmersion as it lives under the stairs and only ever had a connection to my immersion heater. The Solic has a 10 year RTB G'tee so that will get me near the 20 year point on my FIT contract.
