    don't know who's still up..I am. I have had a bad night.
my OH has been admitted to hospital tonight, our local mental health unit. I feel totally lost. we have been struggling for a long time. he was in Iraq last year and was badly injured. he lost 2 of his friends in the same attack. he is okm but did suffer some bad injuries.

he has been struggling for a while and tonight he just lost it. and I couldn't cope any more. He was suicidal and I was, for the first time, really fearful I would lose him. So I called for some help and thankfully it was there. but now I feel really guilty because he's not here. Probably not the place to be posting this. But this thread has been a lifeline to me over the last few weeks and has given me a place to concentrate on something different

Claire be rest asured you acted out of kindness and concern for your oh so remember that and don't beat yourself up over this. mental health problems effect most familys in some ways it is so common don't feel alone its good we can share things on this thread thats what makes us unique. You are not trained to deal with depression and even if you were you are too close to the situation to be able to see things clearly. your oh is obviously suffering a great deal so by not getting help only prolongs his pain. you will both look back on it and agree some day it was the best thing to do.
you have both in particular ur oh been through alot of difficult situations stress and traumatic experience that is very very hard to deal with. thank goodness for professional help darling, i say that as a nurse and as a patient relative and everything else, because when things get tough and you need them its good they are out there.
you didn't mention if you have somebody to support you through all this, please look after yourself darling and take some time out for yourself. thinking of you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I know you must feel in limboland at the moment but once to speak to someone at the unit tomorrow it might give your mind a little rest and reassurance xxx:grouphug:
have just been on the pho ne to them... he is ' categorised' as being so bad he can't even have a lighter. so I do feel so sorry for him. I really can't stand it!!! this is my lovely man who I love the bones of and all he did was fight for his country....and he can't even be trusted to have a fag. stinks...but we will get over it

Max Bygraves and Hal David on the same day :(:( RIP

Now I know its been a long time since liking Max Bygraves was considered cool but I grew up when he was on tv a lot and although at that time I though he was old hat - I was always amazed at how my Nanny loved to see him perform and I would watch her face light up - so in time I found myself enjoying listening to his old style songs and even got myself a few LP's.

Only wish I had got to see him perform. :(

Hal David - What needs said, some of the best popular songs ever written (mostly with Burt).
