oh I am absolutely humbled at how nice the people on this thread are. you truly are the nicest people! I mean. that absolutely. I shied away from all the carp last night. I just wish other peeps could see what a bunch of really caring people you are. I thank you very much xx

Sorry to hear your having a bad night, Pleased that you have managed to get some help for your OH.
I know it's probably difficult but try not to feel guilty.
If he's been struggling as you say then he's in the right place.
They can give him extra support and from the right professionals.
I would try and get some rest.
Easier said than done I know:o.
I would ring the unit up in the morning, to see how he is.
Ask about visiting times. They are usually the same as a regular hospital ward.
(Well they were last time i needed to visit the local unit when a relative had to go into one).
There are people on here most times of the day, so if you need to natter/rant etc go for it.
We have our own little support network going

Oh dear, I'm ever so sorry to read of your suffering fairclaire, that is such a tough position to be in. It sounds like you have been his support for a long time now and you have done your absolute best to love him and guide him but sometimes, we are simply not enough. Not because we don't want to be, but sometimes the specialist knowledge and also an objective point of view is needed. Please, please do not feel guilty. It's awful being at the depths of despair and to watch someone you love, go through that and to try and stay strong and brave must have been wholly draining. He is with the right people who will help to guide his thoughts and feelings back on the right track. It will be too raw right now, but in the coming days and weeks please draw strength from all that you have done and how far along the road you have carried him and use that strength to heal your wounds so that you can be strong in fighting his demons together. All he needs from you is the love you've been giving so freely already :Axxxx
