I'm also on the fixed saver v2 due to end 30/9/12. I was aware that there are number of EDF deals ending on the same date so being was thinking they may end the "Blue +Price Promise April 2014" prior to then. I was thinking that they may end it on 31/8/12 and having seen that EDF have removed the offer from comparison sites it can't be long before they remove it for existing ones. So i've just done mine with haste. Hope i've made the right choice!!! Although the new tariff means i can transfer without penalty if a better one replaces it.

To arrange the transfer for the 1/10/12 you need to use the link that is in starMs' reply at 9.02pm 30/8/12 . If you do it via your online account it may do it straight away which may leave you open to early exit fees as discussed at length on another thread (Hopefully they wouldn't as you are remaining with EDF).

Once you complete the form on the above link you get an email saying you'll be transferred on 1/10/12:T

I've been in my new flat and on SSE for a year and was looking to switch, once I had a year's usage to work with. Then the SSE price hike "hit the fan". So, I switched on 23 August. Evidently, it'll save me £92.73 a year at the current prices.

I used a switching site to request a switch from SSE to Blue +Price Promise April 2014 yesterday (30th August). I know there is a delay until the switch actually takes place, so what happens if EDF pull this tariff offer before my switch goes through?

Will I still be switched to the Blue +Price Promise April 2014 at the tariff advertised yesterday, or will I end up with some other rate?

    Cheers

Thanks for the info. I am in the process of switching from Eon to SP's November '13 fixed tariff. I have just rung to ask to be switched to the January '14 one instead and they have put a note on my account so that as soon as the switchover is complete they will put me on the newer tariff.

Very helpful Customer service rep and although it said the waiting time was 57 minutes, it was in fact only 11, on an 0800 number as well.

Just rang EDF to confirm our switch to the Apr 2014 Blue tariff which we requested on Wednesday was going ahead as plaaned

Got through immediately on the 0800 number

A very helpful lady told me that the deal has not been withdrawn and is still available now.

Our switch is going ahead as planned

The deal has been pulled from the switching sites so that usually means it is entering its last few days of availability.

My EDF deal Fixed S@ver ver2 runs out on 30/09/2012, if I apply today for the Blue will I have to pay exit penalties. My usage is Elec 2400 kwh / year & Gas 13100 kwh / year.
    Thanks

No you won't. A change to Blue is nternal and will not be classed as a break. I know, I switched last month.

No.I was on the same one which ends on 30/9/12.I rang them 2 days ago with the same doubt, but they just swapped it and its already showing in my online account. Its just £2pm dearer for me than the Fixed saver2.
I didn't know they were going to pull the plug and was thinking to call them up by the end of the contract.
Saved in the nick of time...Phew.....:D
  • I've read everything very carefully and I hope my switch which began on 23rd August will go through ok!

When I read that it was being pulled, words such as "just my luck" flooded into my head. Couldn't find a contact e-mail address for them, haven't time or money to hang on for ages to speak to nice people.
  • I did some quick maths and will incur a £30 leaving fee (only elec will incur this) from BG by switching before Sept 30 but my dual fuel savings will well exceed this quickly by going to the Blue+Price Promise which I phoned EDF direct today to sign up. I'm very happy with the switch and thank you again MSE and Martin ! :money:
