Well quite a successful visit to the bank, I am now covered for the full amount for the mortgage and mum has some cover in place too. So I can breathe a bit easier now that is taken care of.
Gave mum £100 today as I know she is struggling for money and won't ask, she only has her pension and it doesn't go far. So that reduces what I was going to send to the mortgage, but I think it is better I give it to her and stop her worrying about paying for anything she sees when she is out and about, which is rare. I did a big shop and spent a bit too much, but there is enough food in the freezer now and the cupboards to last a while with only a top up of bread and milk occasionally.
All in all a good day.
Now have a home made chicken curry bubbling away in the slow cooker ready for the freezer once it is cooked, I tend to batch cook for my son as he works odd hours, so this way he can grab a 'ready meal' when he wants one and it works out so much cheaper this way.Been here for a long time and don't often post

Hi Heffi1,
I love the title of your diary, it is very upbeat, and you have already accomplished a lot.
I agree with the comments on the Will, sorting that out appears to be a priority. A specialist in will's should be able to advise you on the best way of constructng it in the event of a legal challenge. We got one done a number of year's ago and it was worth it's weight in gold in terms of peace of mind.
I don't know if this is possible, but could you re-arrange your SOA so that your mum pays the household bills and you are the one making the mortgage payment's. If the lender permitted this, even without a change of ownership, it might make your claim to the house stronger.

I can't see the car lease payment on the SOA - or does it come out of your salary?
If you may be made redundant then it would be better to have some cash saved up rather than OP'd on mortgage, as long as you stay below the level for benefits. (You can count it as OP's as long as that is what you're earmarking it for, we're very flexible on here).
Good luckA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Thanks IU do have the lease car taken out at source, so my numbers are after the car payment, it finishes in March, and that is the month we would be let go, if it comes to that, so no bill to look forward to :rotfl: If I am lucky enough to be kept on then I will have to find a new lease car, but I am going to find the cheapest one there is and drive a little matchbox car if necessary.
I agree about the saving and I have been giving that some thought today, I need to rejig the numbers a bit to see what I can manage.Been here for a long time and don't often post

thank you that is a lovely thing to hear.
I had not thought about that for the bills and mortgage, I will need to speak to the bank to see if that is possible, but it would add weight to my claim.Been here for a long time and don't often post

Well not all doom and gloom today, I have researched and researched and finally got my act together and made the energy switch. I have saved £243 a year and also got £50 cashback via Quidco, now this was not the highest amount of cashback, but as out family are high users of G&E I went for the one that had the best tie in time, with price offered. So we went with First Utility, they are guaranteeing the price until Dec 2013 so I am pleased with that.

I used to be a pushover to, but there came a point when I refused to have MUG stamped on my forehead any longer, people didn't seem to meet me in the middle, but I am making sure they do now.
I am sure you are more than a match for your brother-in-law.
Well done on getting your energy supplier organised. Another good day's work.Weight 12 st 2lb - Now 11 stone 1 lb (-15 lb)
