In some major trouble

OP, I'm going to presume that you're not a troll because I don't see what you'd gain from it and I'd rather waste my time in giving advice to a joker than see someone genuine get themself into worse trouble.
You say you've got in trouble to "nasty people", so I'm going to presume that we're not talking about anyone who's licenced to lend money. In which case it's not you that's broken the law in borrowing, it's them that's broken the law in lending. I know it might seem frightening, but you really need to go to the police or to your local illegal lending team and let them know what's happened. To report them:
If you live in England- call 0300 555 2222
- text LOAN SHARK and the details you want to pass on to 60003
- send an email to [EMAIL="reportaloanshark@stoploansharks.gov.uk"]reportaloanshark@stoploansharks.gov.uk[/EMAIL]
- call 0300 123 3311
- send an email to [EMAIL="imlu@cardiff.gov.uk"]imlu@cardiff.gov.uk[/EMAIL]
- call 0141 2876 655
- send an email to [EMAIL="loansharks@glasgow.gov.uk"]loansharks@glasgow.gov.uk[/EMAIL]
I understand that your situation is making you panic, so I'm not going to comment on the morality of what you're proposing. There are practical difficulties with it however, that I think you're going to find extremely difficult to resolve. Other people have pointed out the difficulties of borrowing £4000 from PDLs, and I agree that you're very unlikely to be accepted to borrow this amount - in fact if your credit is good enough to authorise this amount from a PDL or combination of them then you'd be much better off getting a traditional loan or credit card advance and staying working in this country to pay it off. Most PDLs only authorise small amounts for first loans (have you borrowed from them before?) and you're unlikely to be able to take out a large number of them over such a short period.
There are no holiday or tourist visas that will give you an initial term of more than 12 months in Australia, so no guarantees that you could actually stay there for the two years your relative has suggested. These can also take a few weeks to arrange and aren't free. If you're staying in France then as you're within the EU you can still be hassled by debt companies and they could potentially get a CCJ. Also IIRC this term would run from when debts defaulted and some lenders are notoriously slow, so it could be even longer than the six years you're expecting.
The six years won't 'start again' if you return to the UK for a visit - unless you're planning on acknowledging your debts whilst you're here; however I think you're being very naive in presuming that they won't chase you whilst you're abroad or hassle your family for further information. Please reconsider and report the illegal lending to the appropriate people.0 -
Thanks for the replies this morning, very helpful.0

Can you say who it is? You've renamed anonymous on here so no reason why you can't mention the dodgy lender...

Having read all of the OP's postings carefully I think perhaps perhaps the gameplan is as follows.
The OP has a £4k gambling debt run up with a dodge lender. If he were to borrow money from family & friends or indeed other loan companies, he would have to slog his guts out to pay the money back - not much fun.
So (as a gambler) the thinking goes like this, why not pay off the dodgy lender with new loans then skip off to Oz for a couple of years, then on to France for a continuation of the working holiday then by the time he comes back to the UK the debt will be statute barred and he will owe nothing - he can even pop over to the UK for visits Reggie Perrin style. Everyones a winner!
Unfortunately for the OP there are a number of holes in his plan:
1) It is hard to believe the OP will get loans anywhere near £4k even from multiple lenders
2) Immigration rules into Oz are tough - he may well end up on the first plane back home
3) A debt may be statute barred but it is still owed and will be chased relentlessly. Furthermore, if the lender has any brain, he will obtain a CCJ against the OP before the 6 year period is up which would prevent the debt being statute barred anyway.
4) Borrowing money with no intention of paying it back is fraudlent. This may well result in Mr Plod waitng for him next time he enters the UK.0 -
Have you thought about going to the police? Others have said you can't raise £4000 by payday loans... it sounds as though you're under threat of violence...0

This is an interesting thread.
If, and a big if, you can get £4000 to pay off the loan sharks why not then stay in this country and default on the payday loans? What's the worse thing that could happen then?
You could also sell everything as you say you could get £700 or so. That would mean your PDC loans would be less as well. Borrow from family and friends as well to try and get it down. Maybe family or friends could get reputable, normal interest loans for you.
However if you are a gambler your family may not want to help anyway. If you do pay off the thugs make sure you don't borrow more.
Surely it would be better staying here and facing the problems with PDL companies after all they wouldn't be as scary as your current problems.
You may even be able to pay nominal amounts to PDL companies. After all you sell everything, have a job then your loans may be more manageable - assuming PDL companies have repayment plans (probably not).
Good luck.Debts: Virgin Card [STRIKE]£5,600[/STRIKE] £5,636, First Direct [STRIKE]£7,700[/STRIKE] £7,000, Halifax [STRIKE]£3,200[/STRIKE] £3,810, Halifax Clarity [STRIKE]£755[/STRIKE] £711, Tesco [STRIKE]£4,005[/STRIKE] £4,450, MNBA [STRIKE]£6,700[/STRIKE] £6,580, Loan [STRIKE]£15,834[/STRIKE] £15,218 Total: [STRIKE](45K at highest) £43,794k[/STRIKE] £43,4050 -
What i dont understand is why cant the OP scrape together (whatever legal means) what he needs, pay off these nasty people and then stay in the country to pay any persons he owes money to.0

Has been a great read so far, thanks all
1) OP - nasty people will hurt you or your family. Them having 'no right to' means jack diddly in this case.
2) Take this as gospel. You will not get total of 4k from any number of PDL
3) Police are your friend in this case. That 4k will soon amount to 10k when you don't pay up (nasty people add on what they like)
Your situation, if true, is a bad one - indeed. However, what you are asking are frankly quite silly questions. There is no easy answer to this, and skipping town isn't the answer. Most gamblers are erratic thinkers, and it shows here. How do I know this? I know 3 gamblers. 1 is a professional, 2 have lost a fortune and have wrecked their lives. The pro keeps is professional, and makes calculated decisions. The other two cannot think things through properly, they see the end game and will make crazy unthinkable decisions if they think it will get them the prize. Not trying to belittle you here, and it isn't the answer you wanted, but my advice is;
1. Police
2. Get professional help for your gambling addiction. It is very hard to stop without it
