I think you are far too argumentative. And try to turn all posts into a battle. :naughty:

It's more a case of being precise in the information I give and receive.

If I give advice on here, it is checked before I quote.

I haven't seen many of your posts, but the ones I have seen have been factually incorrect. I would hate to think that someone coming here for advice is given incorrect advice.

I am not looking for an argument with you or anyone else. But when you quote people specifically, it would be a help if you actually read what was written.

Your posts are only factual for one option. My posts are factual for various options, and give far more security to the OP.

    Quantity doesn't equal quality,

Your posts may be numerous but they are almost always wrong. So be "secure" in the knowledge you confuse and readers are ill advised.

TOWIU gives precise and IMHO expert advice, but then perhaps that's why he/she wrote the postage sticky and you didn't?

I have just sent Paypal an email asking for the fee to be refunded. I'll let you know how I get on.

I just received a reply from Paypal and they have refunded me the 50p fee. If anyone else had problems it might be worth contacting Paypal.

    Dear xxxxx,

Thank you for contacting PayPal regarding your withdrawal reversal.

I have reviewed your account and it shows that attempted to make a
withdrawal on 27/08/2012, PayPal were having technical issues on this
date with any withdrawals that were made.

You were charged 0.50 GBP for the reversal however I have reserved this
fee for you now and is back on your PayPal balance.

I do apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Please let us know if you require any further assistance.
    Yours sincerely,
    Nicola

Don't get involved with something you obviously know little about.

If you took the bother to read my posts, then you wouldn't be making such ignorant and rude remarks to someone who is giving proper advice.

    PayPal

It's typical of paypal to now make an excuse of a technical issue. The operator who spoke to me was adamant that it was the banks who were refusing the payment. This obviously wouldn't happen if paypal were using the same bank details that they had previously used.

You really are rude and ignorant yourself. How do you suppose that poster 'knows little about' something?

You clearly are also unable to comprehend that you do not understand eBay or appal workings and policy.

I shall leave you to fester, it's what you do best.

Excuse me, but it's you who has been jumping on each post I make (in two different threads). It seems that you are following me.

THe poster obviously doesn't know much about the subject if they are defending what you say.

I have been dealing with ebay and paypal professionally for many years now, and I know how the system works. But my business also operates outside of ebay, so I see both sides. Which is why I know not to trust ebay one little bit. And that you should always take precautions for when they let you down, and fail to give you the support you should be able to expect.

It seems that your business only operates through ebay, and you are therefore stuck in the ebay bubble, and don't realise that their T&C's are not the law, and that the law overides them.

So you need to learn that just because you don't know about something that someone else is talking about, it doesn't mean that they are wrong. As that is an extremely ignorant attitude to take.

If you don't like what I say, then ignore me. But it isn't up to you to decide what is good and what is bad advice.

Paypal i understand were bollocked by the FSA for not transferring money under the faster payments scheme but it seems they are now getting round this by doing 'security reviews' and also blaming our banks.

They are keeping hold of our money to gain interest. Also they should be automatically refunding the 50p charges they've made for each withdrawal decline.

Not happy with them at all at the moment
I've had similar happen on "security" holds but it isn't for earning interest, if you can find that they are earning interest on held funds then the FSA would be very interested in knowing about that as it is illegal.

I suspect the holds are for some kind of security issue or to prevent faults in their system. When I had a hold they claimed that it was because I was using different computers (which I wasn't), then they said it was because I had logged in from different IP addresses (I wasn't), oddly enough when I logged in from another PC I didn't normally use and did a transfer it worked perfectly, so who knows what the issue was.

The faster withdrawal/deposit system has screwed up many companies and their ability to keep things moving slowly. I'm more inclined to think that their systems aren't quick enough rather than anything else.

I was surprised to learn that my credit card transfers within the same bank still take ten days to get to my account, that's just incompetence, it's possible that Paypal's failings are just that too.

Paypal have made all sorts of excuses, so it is impossible to tell what the truth is. However investing any money held by the company, is what all financial institutions do. So although you may not be able to prove that it is your actual money that they have invested, you can be pretty confident that they have.

Real time banking has been up and running for quite some time no, but many companies have avoided using it when it comes to paying money out. For Paypal to blame the banks for rejecting the payment, is in most cases a blatant lie. But to then charge the customer 50p, is just criminal.
