l transferred some money from my paypal account into my bank account then got a message from paypal to say they were revieving the payment for my safety and after 24 hours would release the money, today lve looked at my paypal account and the payment has been reversed back into my paypal account and it says its either because either the bank refused it or paypal reversed it, anyone else had this

Due to the new faster payments Paypal seem to be randomly holding some transfers for 24 hour reviews but I haven't heard of them being returned to the Paypal balance. Best to check the bank account details are correct and try again. If the same thing happens you'll have to contact Paypal to see why.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

The same has happened to me. My transfer from my Paypal account to my bank account has been reversed (they've kindly charged me a 50p fee for the privilege!). I know my bank details are correct on Paypal because the same account has been attached for a couple of years and I successfully withdrew funds last week.
I tried again a bit later (before I realised I'd paid the 50p fee) and I got the message saying Paypal were reviewing the payment as a safety measure and it could take up to 24 hours.Operation House Move £11993.60/£25000 (47% achieved)

This reminded me to check my paypal account as i had the same a few weeks ago, a £75 transfer to my account was reversed but no message, logged on to pay for something and realised it had been returned by the bank, in my case it was an unexpected bonus as i had assumed it had gone into my bank, and had budgeted accordingly.Thankyou Sir Alex for 26 years0

This is a paypal issue and is all over their forums.
They are claiming that it is your bank but it is not. Its them.
There is no need for them to do further 'security reviews'. Some of mine have been for 72 hours, Then they claim my bank rejected the withdrawal so ive requested the money again and it will take 72 hours again - so 6 days now to get my money.
Paypal i understand were bollocked by the FSA for not transferring money under the faster payments scheme but it seems they are now getting round this by doing 'security reviews' and also blaming our banks.
They are keeping hold of our money to gain interest. Also they should be automatically refunding the 50p charges they've made for each withdrawal decline.
Not happy with them at all at the moment0 -

yes theyve charged me aswell its ridiculous, look how much money they stand to make if they do that to everyone0 -
Since I have been able to use this new "faster" payments I have done 12 transactions, 8 of which have been held for "security review" So far they have all cleared within 25 hours.
I am a little annoyed of how many have been getting held for review considering that I have been doing an average of 2 transfers to my bank account for the last 4 years or so0 -
On the plus side its normally taking less than half an hour to clear when it does go through!0

The bank rejecting the money may well be a glitch, but I think this "24 hour security review" is going to be used just so paypal can hang to your money that little bit longer. I suppose still faster than the old 3-4 working days!0
