I think that that is bad advice.Stephen_Leak wrote: »PS. A spare key (without any immobiliser chip) hidden under the car might be an investment for the future.0 -
Was an email I recieved upon checking my mail on my iphone! Could always print screen the email when I'm at home later and people can take a look
.
If you press the home and power buttons at the same time on an iPhone it takes an image of the current screen and saves it to your camera roll. Just so you know

So that is how my 2 year old does it :rotfl:Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
I think that that is bad advice.
I respect your opinion.
I use one since almost closing the tailgate on my car after unloading something from the boot without noticing that the keys had fallen into the luggage area. If I'd have closed the tailgate, I would have been unable to access the car, like the OP.
I suggested a key without an immobliser chip. It just has to open a door. A thief could just break a window to do that. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

Still shocked an appeal worked really since they just love scamming folk!
Made me laugh how they called me 'Madam' :rotfl:0 -
Very shocked but pleased that you won't have all those letters annoying you.
I suspect that most PPCs in the BPA have been told to agree to a few appeals at the moment. There's a new appeals service coming in which is to be run independently by the LondonCouncils - I'd be willing to bet they have asked for some examples of typical 'appeals', both successful and unsuccessful. I would want to see these if I was about to launch such a service.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yeah true, i'm new to these 'charge notices' just very glad I read online before assuming it was something legitimate! Wouldn't have paid it anyway after reading these forums and receiving help.
Does this mean with a new appeals board more will be accepted? Or will it just be the same?
Don't see why these companies don't get shut down like private clamping did... if a car parks free then why are they allowed to take the biscuit out of people with a £50 quid fine and more after so many days
Debating writing to go outdoors actually about their stupid car parking system and me winning haha.0 -

We think that more should be accepted but it remains to be seen. It starts in October, when the Freedoms Act comes in and private clamping will be banned in England & Wales. Clamping isn't quite banned yet so go carefully!
We also think that we will be changing the 'ignore' advice to 'appeal' where the PPC is a member of the BPA, and then appeal further to POPLA. Reason being that the PPCs are going to have to fund each and every appeal to the tune of £27 PLUS VAT every time (ouch!). The PPCs absolutely HATE this, I know they are spitting feathers over it.
In addition, the decision will be binding on the PPC (so if the appeal wins then they have to back off) but won't be binding on the motorist (so they can then go into ignore mode, as before) but can be happy that they have just cost the PPC upwards of £40 in POPLA fee, plus man hours, plus p&p wasted!

sometimes i wonder where these parking companys get their names form High View parking, does that mean they used to have an employee sat up in a high chair ( like you get at some swiming pools) armed with a clipboard and a whistle, so that when someone transgressed a parking rule he/she could then blow his/her whistle furiously, and wite down the registration number? From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0
