Once connected you will be able to use Explorer on the laptop to browse to all the files on the disk and copy them to the laptop's hard disk.
Once you've saved all the files you want you could then format the disk. put it back in the PC and do a fresh install of Windows.

That cable sounds usefull but really how much times would it be used again, anyway i have never been inside a compuer and would not know how to take the harddrive out is it easy and do you really need to know what your doing as if its easy i would order this cable and wait tll it comes and do just that and maybe reinstall my computer having saved my info onto laptop, but even that,it would be ages do get my computer up and going again and all those programs i had and downloaded would i not loose them also.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -

Lots and lots of partition system stuff multi disc stuff like that line of it going down screen and then goes to save mode with same lsass.exe error messageTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
Hopefully you would only need to use the cable once, because when you have sorted this out you will have realised the need for and implemented a good back-up strategy.
As for taking the hard disk out - easier than changing a 13 amp plug.
Having to order a cable will take a while but you're not going to lose your data. You've already said you don't want to pay somebody to do it urgently.
Yes you will have to re-install all the programs you've downloaded, however if you've saved the installation files you'll be able to copy those to the laptop as well so you won't need to re-download.

So what happens when the error message comes up? Does your PC just freeze or can you so anything else?
By getting that far into Safe Mode it's obviously loading Windows intitially so I'm surprised that you cant do a Repair Install from your XP disk.

taken from:- http://www.askdavetaylor.com/lsassexe_system_error_every_time_i_boot_windows.html
I had this problem and managed to fix it without a reinstall.
Create the disc at https://www.ubcd4win.com on a good pc and boot off of it on the bad one. Once in go to Start, Programs, Registry Tools, Registry Restore Wizard. Tell it where Windows is installed (C:\Windows usually). Then pick the date that you want to roll back to. I chose the one closest to todays date and it recovered it fine. Reboot and bingo! It's back. (Well it was for me...!)
Hope this helps someone!0
