any guys online now that are good with computers if not then where i can speak with someone online or phone for free,i have hooked up my laptop which i have just used for the first time, and i have problems with my main computer,i had this software that i downloaded and it required i download windows installer i think v3 or something like that so this software would work but since doing so and restarting my computer its not working now it comes up with my computers name.
And also the option to press f10 then it goes to a screen and says isass.exe system error,i have restore discs but i would not want to go down that road unless i had to but i have just so much info on that computer i dont want to loose, more so recent pics from a trip back from oz and fiji last week, and so much more.
I am sure there is an easy way of getting this back to the way it is or booting up and then being able to return to what was before but i have no idea,if anyone is online now and can talk me through this great as would like to get it back up and running asap

Help anyone withthe know how on computers i need a step by step guideon how to bet my computer back up and runing,i am using my laptop now but my main pc is not working.
I had some download i did and it wanted meto go to microsoft and install windows installer,i think i downloaded and while i did a message came up from my firewall asking if i wanted to grant something which i did.
then after that my computer has not worked right since,i have no idea what to do,have tried installing windows xp again and repair, install and safe mode etc etc and nothing seems to work keep getting this same message, might be something easy to sort out and maybe not but i am not hot on computers and have no idea really what i am doing but anything i have tried is not working.
I have lots of info on my computer i want to save and keep and not lose and do not want to reformat my drive if can be helped, there mustbe some sort of free online help or something hp on phone only interested if i am under warranty and microsoft saysi should contact my computer company,i have a compaq, which is hp owned.
i have recently got pics on my computer of a holiday in which i was planning on putting onto cd and other stuff i want to keep, cant be replaced and what can i do also there is a computer store next door to me who says he could try and sort it,well i am out of work right now which i really dont want to be paying him for and also there is stuff i would rather him not see on this computer, its not child !!!!!! incase anyone is thinking that.
Just things i dont want any stranger to see,so one of the reasons i dont want him on it,how can i get my stuff from the hard drive to say something else myself?he says he can back up my files if it needs to be reinstalled again but again this will allow him to see some stuff i would rather not have him.
I am sure there is a fix for this but have no idea what.
But if he ends up reinstalling then i could do that myself and save the money but i would loose my data, what can i do here.
its lsass.exe i have read lots of info on it and there is so much on it i am confused what to do,i can get my computer to boot up but always goes to that same message lsass.exe-system error-object not foundTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
The most important thing to do first is back up your files.
There are several ways of doing this. One option would be to boot from a Linux live CD and then copy your files to CD.
Alternatively since you have a lpatop you could try get an IDE to USB converter which would allow you to connect your PC's hard disk directly to the laptop. You could then copy the files to the laptop's disk. Something like this would do it. http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=138544

No, not if you're PC won't boot. The cable I showed allows you to take the hard disk out of the PC. You then connect the disk directly to one of your laptop's USB ports. Once connected you will be able to use Explorer on the laptop to browse to all the files on the disk and copy them to the laptop's hard disk.
Once you've saved all the files you want you could then format the disk. put it back in the PC and do a fresh install of Windows.

Have you tried booting in safe mode (press F8 on start up and select safe mode) and uninstalling whatever it was that you installed.Sigless0

Tried booting in safe mode and that did not work but uninstalling whatever i installed not sure if i tried that, how is that done??i am very novice when come to computers but am always willing to try myself if it costs nothing and i am not doing more harm than good.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
