Ahh I'm glad I'm not the only one with a Sharpie problem :o

The maze was brilliant Lara but actually I can imagine getting properly lost in there, the corn was really high! Was lovely to spend a bit of time alone with my friend and her little girl though, feel like she (the 2yo) knows who I am a bit better now - normally the three 'aunties' all turn up together, she probably thought we were one entity!

Right, I'm going to post a mammoth list of things I want to do in the next two weeks. I've been off now for 5/19 days and feel as though it's gone slowly and I've accomplished a lot but I think it's going to be like going away on holiday - time speeds up the longer you're there and all of a sudden you have to go home (everyone else gets that, right?), so seeing as it's Monday morning I thought it was time to be a bit more organised. I must say though it's so lovely doing this from my bed with a cuppa, knowing that this time last week I was already at work (8am - it'll probably be closer to 9 by the time I finish my list and that's not as dedicated-looking!).

    - general tidy and clean of room
    - file old bank statements and other paperwork
    - ruthless declutter of general stuff
    - go through wardrobe, ruthlessly chucking anything that I don't wear/doesn't fit/doesn't flatter/I know I always feel uncomfortable in
    - repair all clothes that need it
    - make an inventory of work-suitable clothes and list and try to fill any gaps
    - 'tidy up' laptop, hard drive and memory cards and sticks
    - sort all digi photos (used to be so good with this, haven't actually filed any properly since Xmas 2010 )
    - FINALLY sort through all hard-copy family photos and put them in albums
    - sort all new folders and set up on the big shelf
    - [STRIKE]buy greetings cards for all events between now and Xmas[/STRIKE], plus some emergency stash cards, plus stamps
    - write down all addresses in my address book rather than having to trawl old emails/texts every time
    - buy stash wrapping paper
    - Tesco points - spend the ones that are about to go out of date!
    - Kenco points - put saved codes onto website
    - wash car, clean out interior, check oil, tyres, etc. and stock up on de-icer
    - deep clean and declutter the rest of the house room by room (much smaller task than my room alone)
    - [STRIKE]see physio about dodgy ankle[/STRIKE]
    - see dentist about dodgy tooth (happening later this morning)
    - see hairdresser about dodgy mop
    - [STRIKE]meet up with friend J[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]meet up with friend C[/STRIKE]
    - meet up with friend KM
    - meet up with friend KB
    - meet up with friend B
    - meet up with friend M
    - meet up with friend L
    - write to friend H
    - recycle old phone before it loses any more value
    - send box of books off to Amazon
    - withdraw royal baby name winnings
    - set up paypal on Pinecone
    - order NUS card
    - research and join teaching union
    - revise French and Spanish grammar
    - try to find GCSE practice papers online and see what I get
    - watch some French and Spanish films
    - make some clothes
    - stock up on toiletries
    - finish crochet blanket for baby due end Sept
    - make and freeze some batches of soup for emergency packed lunches
    - payday - check all petrol money has been paid

That's all I can think of for now. Can you think of anything I might have missed?

The other pressing matter is the battle of the bulge :( I'm still doing hopelessly - just weighed myself and am still hovering around 11st7 - a good stone over the top end of my 'happy weight'. I think I might do the old 'cereal for breakfast and for lunch' thing for a couple of weeks to kick start me, as well as getting myself down to the gym/pool, and substituting coffee with fruit tea.

Here I go then, wish me luck....

Good luck, that is an impressive list :) It's such a great idea to do those things before you get busy.

But I reckon there should be WAY more treats in there!

No need to send me pennies, I'm just happy it's going to a nice home! If you PM me your address I'll send it when I take the last ebay item down (I would make a special trip but the post office lady is overly friendly and it makes me feel anxious!)

The list sounds good! I've had something similar since I've had the afternoons free and it's nice to get all the odd bits done. Good luck with it!

Gosh that's quite a list! It'll feel amazing when you get it all marked off as done! Also much better than loafing around at home watching daytime TV then wondering where all your free time went! :)

Honeymoon must have been very good if you put on 10lb Wendz! :)

I've got Tidying Fatigue so I'm taking a little (blackcurrant) tea break. In my infinite wisdom I decided to drag everything out and tidy from the foundations as it were, rather than tidy away surface stuff then go deeper. So it currently looks like a bomb's gone off but I'm going to try and power through it.

Dentist this morning was grand - it's a new one as I wasn't happy at my last place: really large impersonal practice with a big emphasis on cosmetic dentistry. This place is much much smaller and I'm instantly happier. I went because I'm worried about the tooth that crumbled away a bit about 6 months ago. Last dentist said it would need a crown (£200+), this lady says it doesn't at all, just some filling (£49) - so that tells me my instincts were right around the last place. Anyway, bit of a ramble but I go back on Wednesday.

I've also been for a mooch around Tesco and the luncheon vouchers can be redeemed off general shopping so I've used half of them (didn't want to hold the queue up too long since they're all in £1 and 50p denominations :o) and I think I'm going to 'boost' my almost expired clubcard points and get some sensible (seamless) undies and tights for work.

I'm sure the 10lb will soon fall off you Wendz! If I could just get under 11st again it'd be a nice start!

Ah Cinny thank you you're a gem, will PM you now :kisses3:

Tidying Fatigue is a killer - but I agree with you, it's better to do a thorough tidy/sort out and put up with your room being a pit of doom for a little while, and then for it to be a haven of peace, calm and tranquility whilst studying ;) (yeah, right!)

I'm very lucky up at my parents, as I have a study with a big floor to ceiling recently constructed bookcase for my many lever arch files - I've got so much stuff printed out before I've even started! and I only have to share it with my mum and her sewing machine, which are being crammed into another corner of the room. Jammy or what :)

If only having a study could make me study harder - I'm still struggling with the dreaded maths preparation!! I quite envy you doing secondary at the moment, as I'm feeling a tad overwhelmed at the thought of having to learn so many different subjects, but when I chat to DD and her chums, I remember why I want to teach this age group :)

I'm temping as well at the moment (can't remember if I mentioned it in an earlier post) and thankfully the job is quite quiet so I've been able to do more prep work here than I would have done at home.....

Now, if my darned house would just hurry up and exchange, life would be sweet as I could stop worrying about it all falling through!!

As an aside, how's the dating coming along? I remember you saying you were doing lots, any keepers?

Sometimes you need to do a total bombsite clearout- no good just doing the surface stuff and putting things into boxes so it looks tidy, as the clutter's still there. Lurking. :o I found it a massive help to label all the storage boxes I had and everything I kept had to be put straight into the relevant box. If it didn't belong in a particular box, I'd have to make the effort to find it a home... or decide I CBA and bin it, which worked a lot! :) You'll feel brilliant once it's done, you just may end up sleeping on one corner of your bed tonight as you've not managed to finish it all in one day! :)

Great news about finding a nice new dentist and saving all that money and work on your bad tooth! :T

Nice being able to do prep work whilst you're being paid Kitty!

Oh yes, how is the dating like a mo fo going? Keep seeing your funny little comments on Twitter about the obviously high calibre of people on dating sites! :)

Hey everyone, guess what I found today?! Oh yes, that pesky GSCE certificate which I just spent a bomb replacing. It was, of course, in with a load of French and Spanish translations from final year uni, which were in turn in my Japanese folder from 2nd year. On one hand I'm really annoyed but on the other I feel vindicated that at least I never threw it away! :o
