Sorry Shrimpy I should have specified - yes it's the stop counting calories one. I just did a quick google and found this page, where the rules seem to be lifted verbatim from the book. Seems I have been doing it wrong though - I thought the non-mixing of fat and carb meals was only introduced in Ph2 for some reason - I thought you lose a lot in Ph1 simply because it's so restrictive. Gah, oh well, onwards and [STRIKE]up[/STRIKE]downwards from here...Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Thanks Tete - I kind of knew I wasn't buying the start up one, don't worry! Thanks for the link too
It doesn't look like too far away from what I'm doing, although I did have a cup of normal tea this morning
and I'm pretty sure I have greek yoghurt not natural live yoghurt. Hopefully I'll still shift a few pounds though! Really want to start exercising again but starting back at work has me so pooped, I think I need to leave it a while longer.
ETA I thought I had read somewhere that the non-mixing was only phase 2 as well, plus that article lists dairy products under 'Foods you can eat in both phases' when I didn't think you could in phase 1? This is why I always end up winging it!Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -
Ah I didn't see that! Sounds like the article has copied and pasted some parts and just made up the rest! Just checked in the book and there is a special NB that says don't worry about food mixing, phase one gets results without that. So thats good.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Woo, friend just forwarded an email from BA who are reimbursing the total amount we claimed for when we got stuck in NY in Oct, so that's £427 winging its way to me - yay!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Oh man, talk about good news and bad news! Logged on to GTTR site to see if my application has been forwarded to my second choice yet, and their course is already full! Wah! Back to the drawing board I guess....Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Does that mean no university next year?
If so, I am really sorry that this has happened.
I have read your thread and you seem like a very nice, genuine and caring person. Bad things always happen to good people.I feel for you and will be sending good thoughts your way!

Ooh hello, and thanks. I always get a bit nervous when I see a new name has posted in case they're being mean haha!
Well to be honest I really don't know what my next step is going to be. There's clearing but that's ages away. I'm going to that roadshow thing on Saturday morning so will try and get some advice then. I really really hope I can get a place somewhere this September, I really don't want to put it off another yearWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
I bet! Good luck on finding that university place.
I'm doing a HNC in electrical engineering at the moment, but am reluctant to enter into a full time degree afterwards and the thought of 4 more years of studying part time does not appeal at all. I know it will be worth it in the end, but - heyho!
I would love to work for myself, thinking about setting up an engineering company of my own once I have taken in a bit more experience (I am only 25, so just a wee child!) also I notice you are talking about north east universities, are you local? I am from stockton on tees!
Also, I would never be nasty. Its not in my nature. Hope you are having an otherwise lovely day!Debt as of Dec 2012: 8900

Ha yes - same! *waves*
Obviously I don't know you at all but with regard to your degree I'd say do it now. I considered doing a Masters when I was your age (ha! I'm only 30 now so I'm not as old as I sound saying that) but was put off by the price and the thought that I was 'too old' to be studying, I felt by that age I should just try to progress up the career ladder rather than do further study (plus I didn't really know what I wanted to do an MA in) ... now here I am five years down the line, still in the same job having progressed nowhere. I really AM getting a bit old now and the prices of uni courses have absolutely rocketed and I'm kicking myself for not being a bit more decisive back then. But at least I know what I want to do now whereas I didn't have a clue before and that was the bulk of the problem.
We all have our own set of circumstances but I'm just saying you should take opportunities when they're available I guess...Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Aww man, gutted for you Tete!
Hope the roadshow on Saturday is useful. Must be so frustrating to have finally decided what it is you want to do and you're stuck waiting for it to happen!
On the plus side, whoop whoop to getting the money from BA! That'll be a nice pot to put towards your next holiday!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0
