  • Good thing: Managed to stop myself having seconds of the risotto I made for tea - good for the diet and the packed lunch stash :)

Bad thing: Had to call friend's cousin about work experience and she didn't answer so I've had to leave a message - augh, hope she's not avoiding me and it's all gone titsup :(

Shhhh don't mention the diet. I may have accidentally eaten two donuts last night (although I spilled a huge glob of raspberry jam down my front in the process so I'm hoping most of the calories escaped with it. If this wasn't karma enough, it made OH laugh so much he managed to knock most of my cup of tea over me as well! I think they call that aversion therapy!)

Glad you enjoyed french club, sounds really good!

Hope you hear from your cousin soon.
  • All the calories are DEFINITELY in the jam Shrimpy :D

Thanks Wendz, it's my friend's cousin so I don't actually know her that well - which is why I feel bad pestering her, but time is of the essence for me! :o

I'm going to email my alternative work experience avenue this aft and see if I could maybe do a week before half term after all in case this falls through, but I don't want to mess them about because I do want to do a week with them later on anyway - so annoying!

My Grandma has just text me to say she was taken into hospital at 5am today, didn't go into much detail just that she hadn't been feeling well for a while. Her sister is with her and they're just waiting on some blood test results and then my Mam's cousin is going to pick them both up. I'll go round after work - I feel bad staying at work but there's nothing I can really do at the hospital, and I have so much work to do ... but then I'm so worried that I'm not actually getting anything done :o Augh, life!

  • Update: Grandma is now home, she has Shingles so although that won't be very nice for her it's not as bad as heart failure or something which is what I feared. Whew. So that's where I'm off to tonight, instead of my run - which probably isn't such a bad thing hip-wise!

Sorry to hear about your grandma Tete, hopefully it won't amount to anything that a course of antibiotics can't cure.

ETA: Glad to hear she's home and okay, I'm sure she'll appreciate the company this evening.

Glad your Grandma is ok, always a bit scary when they have to go off to hospital x
  • Oooh I'm so annoyed! Friend's cousin still has not got back to me, I've left her another message tonight - a bit less friendly this time and saying I just want to know where I stand because if I need to find somewhere else for some classroom experience I'm going to have to do it pretty quick. I'm just so cross because last Thursday it was all on, we just needed to finalise dates and now she's totally avoiding me and I've wasted the last week because I thought I had something sorted. Bloody people. I mean I realise my uni application is probably not top of her list of priorities but she could at least answer her phone. Huff.

Anyway, went to see Granny tonight, she's not doing too badly, in a bit of pain but in good spirits - more relived than anything I think that it wasn't a blood clot as apparently her symptoms could also have meant that. So in the grand scheme of things I suppose all's well :)

    Grrr.....

I am not surprised you are annoyed, would be better if she just told you if she can't organise it.
