Grass cut back and front. I'm quite happy with that for now as all the odd gardening jobs I can fit in over the next few days. It was just really annoying watching the grass grow and grow and not being able to get out there due to the rain.
I've had lunch and dogs have been brushed ready for their baths. Off to do that now, expect that we will all end up soaked!Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Jazee I sympathise re black dog hair; I shall have that again on Thursday, when Lucy Lastic arrives to stay for a week.:D
Dunno if I'm weird, but I've decided that I actually enjoy bathing dogs;:D it was real fun when Ted had a longish stay here recently, because we had to bath him twice. Not because he rolled in anything, but he has a skin condition and has to have 2 baths a week in special shampoo.
I need to defrost the freezer. First need to pry Mr LW out of his chair tolift the drawers out as they're too heavy for me.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

One of mine is a Lucy Lastic but she's not responsible for the black hair. She's my littley Westie pup. I don't think you're weird at all for enjoying bathing the dogs. I enjoy almost everything to do with my dogs.
They are now clean and the house smells of damp dog. Have vacuumed/swept through whole house. That's me done for today now apart from making tea which can wait a while, whilst I have a cuppa and read the paper.
Have a great evening everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Hi all, not sure if I'm doing this right so forgive me if I'm not! I was browsing the forum for recipes and came across a thread saying 'My house is a mess' followed the links here and well here I am! Our house is a total tip - between DH and me having health issues of sorts in the past year, building work and 3 children we've let it slide a bit. Today we've cleared, sorted and cleaned the understairs 'hotspot', washed the clothes the children found hiding round their rooms and found some of our lounge floor - I'm hoping to do the stairs before bed tonight!
Also, I tried reading Tootifruities welcome post but couldn't find Toot's master list mentioned in point15 - is it still around?:A Official DFW Nerd Club Member 1403

:wave:Hello Kate and welcome!
Sounds like you and the family are flying already. It's good to have your family helping you.:A
Toots wrote something like this
>>Toots' list: this is *your* master list of absolutely everything *you* want to get done in *your" house and garden and "your" life in general
I have written my own Frogs List which includes all my short-term jobs which have to be gobbled up soon or they will result in further problems, such as:
- check my bank balance every Monday morning
- pay the gas bill
- set up a PayPal account so that I can sell my unwanted junk on eB@y
- send home-made recipe cards for healthy snacks to DD before the start of term, suitable for my DGSs (aged 4 and 2) to make
- mend the broken door on the sideboard
- get the patio re-laid before someone trips over the higgledy-piggledy slabs and breaks an ankle
and my own Toots List which is my wish-list / more long-term plans that don't have a particular deadline - things I'd like to do sometime when I've got the money / time / strength, such as:
- decorate the hall, stairs and landing
- replace the 3-piece suite
- save £250 for the next grandchild's "Welcome to the World" present (as far as I know, he/she isn't even on the way yet!)
- learn to read and speak Polish
- grow a pineapple
As you can see, only *you* can write *your* Frogs and Toots Lists. It might help to have a notepad and pen which you carry with you from room to room while you're doing the housework, where you can scribble down things you spot that need to be done urgently as well as the things that you dream of doing one day.
You will find both lists useful to keep track of where you are, as well as getting great satisfaction in crossing things off when they are achieved! And even when you do cross something off, you will find that inevitably you will want to add something else to the lists - although the nature of the lists may change as your family circumstances change, Frogs and Toots will never disappear completely because we all have dreams as well as deadlines.
Hope that helps. Have fun!0
