  • I dont want to sound as if im bragging but me and the dh. go away in a few weeks time for 5days to the big apple. we love it there, and work hard and pay for it. month by month so we can go. i know alot of people will say shes in debt but can go abroad, but i see my debt not that offensive now. working to get the nice things in life and enjoy life.
my 10 wk challenge thats when i found this site, i was trying to think of how i could find that extra cash for my holiday. so i decided that i set myself 10weeks to turn my junk into ££££ today ive updated my cash i have made so far, in the 8 weeks i have made £368. from ebay and selling stuff we no longer use. its fun to set weekly targets. I will set myself a new challenge soon, maybe a start of the newyear challenge. will need something to keep my mind off my son, who soon is to be deployed overseas.

    Good for you!! :D

I do agree with you that some people may slate you for going on holiday when you are in debt, but in a way so long as you're not putting yourself in more debt to go on holiday, then it's not necessarily a bad thing! You've worked and saved hard to get where you're at. You're doing really well with your selling. I say enjoy it!!

    Besides..

Thats very true. all my debts which are almost gone, are paid by direct debit, as long as i carry on working i can cover my out goings. we dont live beyond our means, and our mortgage is covered monthly through my dh bank. i do pay half towards the mortgage, yet i dont show it on my signature. we dont go out drinking or smoke, so we use any money we get spare for a holiday. this is my second marriage. my first was hell.....
too much to say about it but my dh is my life and he supports me 1000%.

  • Hi Pantherchick!

The holiday sounds fab! I think its important to do things you enjoy or if not you just end up resenting life instead of enjoying it! I also look at it abit like dieting, if im too strict with my diet then I end up bingeing and im exactly the same with debt busting, if i try to be too strict I know I will end up just going 'eff it' and buying something obscene that I know I can't afford because I will have told myself 'i deserve it' We actually go away ourselves in December, no where as glam as the big apple though :)
