Hi sharon87. its a battle sitting and putting things on ebay, i hate the gift wrapping part and the queue in the post office, but its for a good result so it has to be done! i feel like saying to the cashier, "i'l be back" just for the fun of it! lol. so thanks for your support and i hope you beat your demons and win the battle with your debts, your doing well, pantherchick xx

  • Hi, i've subscribed to your thread, good luck!
Have you thought about a car boot? That way you can really declutter and you will get cash rather than having to wait for paypal and all the fees. Try looking for supermarket coupons too and comparing the prices at different supermarkets before you go shopping.
Well done on your first week (and a bit!)

Thanks Katie, my daughter asked me to do one with her so at the minute i wont be able to do one for at least 3 weeks do to work pressure and a weekend away coming up, there's also a flea market near us, bit like a car boot with no car! lol. im going to start a monthly menu plan, but there is only the two of us at home now, the kids drop by from time to time and raid the cupboards, so i have to have some supplies to keep them going!even though they are in their 20's they still want mums cake cupboard. im trying to find ways of not over spending, spend only if i have too, i ask myself do i need it, or just want it. thanks for the advice, its nice to know others care to reply with constructive advice. xx

Have still the old laptop to sell, and the buyer is still contacting me but i want to see the colour of his money first, think if i hand it over i will never see him again! im in it for the extra dosh dosh so he will have to pay up if he wants it. put a little cash into my scp today :). even went shopping and bought bare minimum and felt good about not spending on junk food. I would love to hear from any others out there what you are doing to help your cause, im thinking long term now and even considering doing a flea market in the next few weeks with darling daughter. cant seem to find any coupons what site do i need, and i love competitions but i dont want to fill in loads of personal stuff for a silly chance, what site do i need, anyone help me here? well must go to bed long day at the office tomorrow, but i will be thinking of my future fortune and money making ideas;) xx

Write again. They'll usually say no first time round which they hope will put people off. Don't let it! Keep at them :)

hee hee :) Actually seeing the cash is a big incentive!! Excellent! And with him on board with helping you to save money (as opposed to spending your new found cash!!), you'll be debt free before you know it!!!

Best thing worked for me was budgeting - and sticking to it! I get paid monthly. Work out all outgoings/rent/dd/so etc, and see what I'm left with. Divide by 5 (weeks in the month), and lift that money in cash each weekend. That money is to do me for fuel, food shops, clothes if they're needed, coffees or any entertainment. Any left over by the end of the week goes into a pot.
The other really good tip is to keep a spending diary. That way you can see exactly where your money is going to, and then you can decide what you can either cut back on or cut out.
Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out
