Well I have had a morning and half - went to the bank to talk insurance policies etc. realising my cover would not cover the mortgage in the event of me going first, I have rectified it, but an increase of £35, cancelled the critical illness of £25 so only a £10 increase in total, which is not so bad really.

Then as my mum was with me we had subway for lunch, £7.25  between us and I paid. So that has to come off the total for the week, I am not including the insurance yet.

    £8.75/£30.00

I have to be good for the rest of the week now

Of course you can. pp should be back and will start the new thread as soon as she can. You can either post your budget here on sat or on the new thread when it's up and running.

    Good luck with the challenge.

£6 something spent so around £16 so far. Going to a wedding on fri and have a different budget for that so should be making it green this week.

I've spent nothing this week, so far. The weather has been foul so we've spent our week inside having fun and even doing some house work.

    Mid week update:

    Pledged £50.00

    Spent: - £24.00 Groceries
    - £23.00 Take Away for me and bf

    = £3.00 Spare

Then I fell off the wagon. Was going to try and hide it in another expense and justify that in my head but thought no - declare it!!! Own up!!!

    Additional: - £32.61 DVDs
    - £11.38 Game Pre-Order

    Total: £90.99 / £50.00 (RED)

GRRR!!! I need to budget for things like this - not buy on a whim...

How does everyone else do this??? Do you have a pot to save for things... or just say this is how much you have - don't spend over... or save it and add to next weeks - THEN buy it?

    All advice appreciated!

    Additional:

Decided to take the amount I am over off my remaining spends budget for the month leaving me less per week. That way none of my other budgeting suffers.

What I do depends on the spend. We have various budgets including entertainment, groceries, presents. If the spend legitimately belongs in one of our budgets the funds come from there. If it's just that I want something then it comes out of this money. We try and save for what we want but occasionally we would reduce next weeks budget to cover the over spend.

    sorry for the waffle.

Packet of crisps and a chocolate bar, but I also need to buy lunch as I was running alte and forgot to grab something before I left the house....hopefully nice and cheap if I can find something tasty.
