  • Welcome learning2budget.

As you may have read, pointy penguin is away this week, but normally she would update the first post with everyone's budgets, then we post as and when we please, until next week when pp will update the post with your spends. Red = bad. Green = good.

I def find posting on here makes me think about what I'm spending. I don't like being red.

    Good luck with the challenge.

Totally mis-calculated yesterday, it's actually not as bad as i though. £16 in my purse £18 in the bank means I spent £22 yesterday.

    Sun 26th - £22 groceries

    £22.00/£56.00

I am going to join in this week, I usually come across it too late in the week and then can't remember what I have bought :o

So I am aiming to spend no more than £30 this week, as it is the first week I think I will start high and see if I can reduce it over the coming weeks.

Wish me luck and forbid me from buying still warm from the oven croissants in the morning on the way to work. If I do this I may even shift a few lbs too. :rotfl:

ETA: £1.50 - Asda Croissant this is the last time I will get them.
:) Been here for a long time and don't often post

Hi Pointy have a low spend week in the US.

    Last week I spent £0

This week I have no plans and intend to spend as little as possible and defiantly on more than £5

    Mid week update:

    Pledged £50.00

    Spent: - £24.00 Groceries
    - £23.00 Take Away for me and bf

    = £3.00 Spare

Then I fell off the wagon. Was going to try and hide it in another expense and justify that in my head but thought no - declare it!!! Own up!!!

    Additional: - £32.61 DVDs
    - £11.38 Game Pre-Order

    Total: £90.99 / £50.00 (RED)

GRRR!!! I need to budget for things like this - not buy on a whim...

How does everyone else do this??? Do you have a pot to save for things... or just say this is how much you have - don't spend over... or save it and add to next weeks - THEN buy it?

    All advice appreciated!

    Additional:

Decided to take the amount I am over off my remaining spends budget for the month leaving me less per week. That way none of my other budgeting suffers.
