Amazon One Day Delivery

  • I have Amazon Prime and so 99% are next day (some show "expedited delivery" instead) and they send a few item Royal Mail 1st Class and some RM Tracked both of which should be a next day service but has it's failure rates.

For an extra charge I would expect them to use Special Delivery (i.e guaranteed) but it's possible they are using next day Tracked nowadays instead.

If you've paid extra and the item arrives late Amazon will refund the extra cost without any argument.
    and maybe some compensation.

Such a silly comment, why do so many people think they are entitled to compensation for every little thing that goes wrong.

Well, the package didn't arrive so I'll request a refund but I don't want compensation. I just wanted the game to arrive today. :p

    should be?
well for starters Tracked has a 24 and 48 hour variants
So if Amazon choose not to send it the 24 hr varient(they use 48 hour in the main),it should be next day anyway?
1st class 'aims to be' next day. Not arriing next day isnt a failure. given th service isnt sold as a next day service, its hard to fail at something that isnt part of the service used.

Well OP specifically paid 6 quid for next day delivery so yes Amazon would have used the next day service if they sent RM Tracked (unless of course human error occurred).

All my Prime parcels sent RM Tracked were on 24 hour service (label states such) so regardless of what Amazon use in the main their procedure for meeting next day with RM Tracked is clearly the 24 hour service as Amazon are not stupid enough to charge their customers for next day delivery and then use a 48 hour service.

OK fair enough but the point is if I use prime Amazon are offering a "guaranteed" next day delivery during Checkout and then sometimes shipping 1st class.

Perhaps my post should have read: "Based on the claims made during Amazon's Checkout it appears Amazon's expectations are that Royal Mail 1st Class should be a next day service".

Given Amazon's clout I hazard a guess that they have some kind of agreement with RM to help increase the success their 1st Class mail arriving the next day.

You could always take him shopping tomorrow, tell him to choose any game you like, whilst you get to go off and shop for girly things?!?!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

so not stupid enough to use 48 hour tracked but fine with using 1st class?so how does this special 1st class work? is it only for Amazon or do other companies get it too? has the regulator been made aware of this?

Which part? The very thought, I wouldn't get so far as to even think it.
