Hi
I've had my worst voucher shopping weekend since I started this at the end of January and feel I have now lost all my 'voucher confidence' and am relieved there is only the one voucher left on the go at the moment.
Yesterday, I put my shopping through and, as usual, handed over my vouchers to the young male SA and asked him to check which would go through. He carefully inspected every voucher against my receipt and only took one wholefood coupon and handed the rest back. I chickened out of questioning why he didn't scan the coupons and let the till decide. (I only ever do the mimimum H&B shop and on this occasion had bought some Rimmel Sexy Legs and some soap to take it just over the £10 mark along with a bit of other shopping.)
Today, rightly or wrongly, I decided to return the Rimmel Sexy Legs as I didn't want it enough to actually pay for it. I actually got refunded 2 x £4.99 instead of just £4.99. I dithered whether to tell the SA that it was on bogof but didn't. (I do feel slightly guilty over this.)
I went around the store and did another shop. This time the SA scanned the vouchers apart from the DM £4 one. He said you had to buy the book.
On my way home I had to pass my local and so decided to call in and use my last set of peach coupons. I went to the young lad who I have used lots of times in the past without any problems. (Like I say, I only ever do small H &B shops and haven't done any HC and the store doesn't sell clothes.) This time he looked at the vouchers and called the supervisor over. She asked if I had spent £10 on H&B. I wasn't sure if the answer was yes or no to this. Doh!! (I had bought 2 Olay Facial Wipes @ £4.29 each & 2 Loaded APD @ £1.99 each, both on bogof.) He scanned the DM £4 voucher but then the supervisor said you had to buy the book and so he voided it off. All in all he only scanned 2 50p wholefood coupons off the bill.
I know the acceptance of vouchers is a privilege and not a right but I do feel a bit of a failure this weekend. My dilemma now is whether I take the Olay Facial Wipes back - I was buying them to put in my stash that I am putting aside for my friends - or do I just stand the 'hit'.
Kind regards
