Did a bootsale today to clear our garage of general unwanted stuff & kids items and took my H&B surplus as well. The kids stuff and general tat was hardly touched/looked at, but all the toothpastes/shower gels/mouthwash etc went well. Must have made £130 approx, selling it 3 for £2. The handwashes were most popular, and I was surprised how fast the mens shower gels went!!

On my way home popped into tesco to get a chicken for tomorrow's roast and found myself putting 6 handwashes in the trolley with some soap to take it over £10. Nooooooooooooooooo, I'm addicted! Total shop was £25+, after H&B and newspaper coupons paid £3.24 cash thanks to lovely Saturday student SA.

Roll on new H&B coupons, my 6/5 stash is all used up :D .

Can I ask has this H&B/Quit/voucher thing been goin on for long? I only joined this happy band about a month ago and can't believe the money I have saved and the 'stuff' I have given to very grateful friends and family.
    Could it continue???????

I started with the first quit packs, and I think that was about end of Jan early Feb time (looking back on old threads). I've been doing it ever since because more and more vouchers just kept turning up. I have quite a large stash now despite giving some to my family too. I think they're now going to stop now but heres hoping they don't. I'm sure I remeber welshy (tell me if im wrong) or someone saying that mr t did this last year at the beginning of the year, so might have to wait till nest year now.

The Quit Kits only came out beginning of Jan for all of those that wanted to quit smoking in the New Year, but H&B leaflets were around before that and seem to resurface with new pictures and dates every few months.

I sometimes look on eBay to see what vouchers are about, as there are always loads of sellers offering allsorts and you get an idea what to look out for in store. My local stores only have the Active packs at the mo, but PTS is a great way to get coupons if you have stuff to swap ;) .

I couldnt have made it much easier, suppose i could have just said

    "hopex myx quitsx arex ok",

After Welshy referred to a lack of them in one store,

We all swap coupons on PTS, but i dont bother with ones or twos, i usually wait until i'm owed quite a lot before requesting them........

Although i do send out odd ones if asked.

Just off on a 20mile round trip.

And a successful trip it was, same guy i have seen 4 times this week, but still asked first if it was ok to take £90 worth...."No problem" he said

Apparently he's on overtimme, their basic pay(hes under 18) is £4.40 an hour.

Anyway £63 clothes £26 HandB, £18 HC, £4 food paid <£5.........but not before a "shock"

£10 blue scanned ok, but nothing else, tried and tried.."I'll call the supervisor" he said, before i had time to say anything, he pressed the button.....luckily she was away from her station....I said..."can u try them again", still nothing,..He said, "coupon not accepted time limit"(or something like that)...got him to try again....Eureka, they worked, 26 of my 31 coupons later supervisor appeared, i stood hiding coupons...."sorted now" he shouted...phew....final 5 went through.

He's on tomorrow so will do a final one or two.....or even more.....feel like dropping him a tenner, but he might think I'm queer........so, i'll leave that.

On leaving, spoke to even younger SA looking after SS tills, "Whats the policy on accepting coupons on these tills"..."what do you mean" he says......"Well if i spend £100 and have £99 worth of Tesco coupons"(showing him a couple)...

"Thats ok" he said, "what happens when it beeps and asks for authorisation" I said, he said he would "overide it when it asked for authorisation"..........Theres another option....when he's on.......might try an HandB on it tomorrow
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.
