It is to talk about disability and not a true interview.

In fact I am bit annoyed now as the Clerk will not pass me on to the relevant person now to set a time and date for this as his manager is on leave and he can validate who I am.

Maybe you will just have to wait until he comes back. Phil, you have only just contacted them. You cannot expect everyone to drop everything just because you have questions to be answered

No, but I do object to a question about disabled access being thought of as maybe Spam, it hardly sounds disabled positive does it?

Oh don`t tell me, next it will be that this position isn`t suitable because of blah, blah , blah. Wait until the guy comes back and then make a complaint if you feel that you have /are being treated unfairly. Where or when has it been stated your email was spam

I won't get the job now anyway as I have contacted them and made it plain that linking questions about disabled access with spam is a seriously concerning, therefore, they will hate me anyway. But it is better to be unemployed than to say nothing about such poor methods.

He replied this morning and said he could not help me as he was not sure if my email was spam or not.

If it said "buy my penis enlarging pills" then i could understand it. But my email said I had been speaking to HR and on their recommendation I was writing to ask to be put in touch with the right person to make an appointment to talk about disabled access for this job.

But then him saying he could not help me as he did not know if my message was spam or not just really upset me if that is how seriously they take disabled access.

Well it didn`t take long for you to dismiss that one. Thats ok phil you still have is it 5 more applications on the go? Personally I wouldn`t have such a defeatist attitude. If you stand for what you think is right this particular company may actually think you got some balls and are willing to try and help others as well as yourself with regards to disabled rights. Things will never change if everyone just accepts, Don`t you think Phil

I am too strong at standing up for what I think is right I know. I just do not think it will have done me any favours getting back in touch with the HR saying that I am concerned that people at your place consider emails about jobs and especially disabled people as even possibilty spam. To me that is a very bad culture to have.

I do always regret standing up for myself afterwards as I know it wins no friends but I do believe in doing the right thing.

I recieve spam from people claiming new fire legislation on a weekly basis from companies trying to sell me forms to download to complete my own fire risk assessment.

Maybe they thought you were doing something similar, but regarding disabled access? Whilst i still dont understand why you felt you needed to call them to tell them you have a disability, (although i fear you were scared you might get an interview and possibly a job) did you make it perfectly clear that you were an applicant, as opposed to ' I am calling regarding your disability proceedure'. This could definatly be translated to a sales call/email.

I thought best to tell them as I want this job so much and I wanted to be open and fair to them and myself as I want to be sure I can do this before I am interviewed.

I made it clear I was looking at the job in my email.
