duty to get highest pricee for repossession??

    They can demand a certain level of qualification for dealing with the legalities.

    Do you carry your own liability insurance for example?

    If the question is, why won't the Bank deal with me direct, why do they insist on my using a solicitor? Then I'd have thought the answer was money laundering regulations.

    The bank is allowed to take into account how long a sale may take to conclude when considering whether to accept an offer or not. The bank, not unreasonably, may be assuming the sale will take much longer with an amateur handling the buyer's legal matters.

    I do not believe you have any case for complaint.

    why would a self conveyancing purchaser require insurance against himself.
    seller has no duty to/interest in purchaser......why should competence concern him.....should only be concerned gets best price.
    caveat emptor....clearly not understood by many....

    Lenders also have a duty not to incur unnecessary costs when selling repossessed property. So most likely don't want to take the risk that you could be totally incompetent.

    have done 6plus times.....if you can show me extra costs....i will definitely take note.
    if incompetent...the risk is WHOLLY with me and of no concern of seller.they get full money before signing over.....where is downside for them???

    Why can't you locate former owner - write to them at the address and hope they have forwarded their mail.

    Yes there is a duty, it is for the former owners to enforce

    so they take lower price,dont tell owner,leave him with extra debt...and its ok???!!!
