the quality of clothes of t can be unpredictable. we normally wash new clothes before wearing them for the first time. 2 polo shirts got totally out of shape and unwearable after just one wash, check label and it should be ok for machine wash at 40 degree. they costed £18 each! but then the plain white tshirt £4 each and underwear are good quality.
t clothes are a bit overpriced in general. bought a summer top a couple of weeks ago (with old yellows) but have not wear it yet due to weather, it is reduced by £5 already, i would be gutted if it was not acquired by couponing. many tshirts are priced at £12 £18, that is not cheap. the suit is reasonably priced but not very high quality.
oh well, guess we just can't have everything, so happy shopping
Hope you took the Polo shirts back vellum...washed or not, this is classed as "not fit for purpose"., and should be returnable without question......being an experienced MSE'r, I presume youve still got the receipt.
Tesco (imho) are rducing things fast, putting lots of coupons out, to get rid of stuff quickly for the next range....I picked £80 worth the other day....actually went through tills at £45...........
During February's clothing blitz, bought "lots" of ladies suits at around £60 to £80........aweek after we returned them.....some of the jackets were down to £6, the trousers down to £15................of course theres many times(in lots of stores) when ive seen this, and bought the cheap ones as well, returning them with the original receipt for full refund.....................When I buy clothes, I work out the total with my mobile phone. Then to be on the safe side I pick up a few extras, which I keep at the back of my shopping. I put the clothes on first, them some general shopping. I watch the total of the clothes as they add up and if they don't reach the required total I can include the extras. If not I leave them behind. You have to keep a close eye on the total, but it is worth it and means you are not buying more than you need to.
IMHO...thats the way to do it, although the other day £80 worth went through at £45, could never compensate for that, self scanners wern't working.....I left the whole lotCouponing....."every little hurts"

I think I got caught out with the ladies undies £2.00 each, didn't realise they were 3 for £5.00. My shop was messed up anyway so don't think this affected any of the £50.00 spends but the £7.00 off £35.00 adults second coupon. Can't make sense of my receipts at all.
The £1 reduction on the 3 for £5 comes in after the total, so(imho) i dont think this was the problem....
I know this applies to some of the mens gear....
If you bought kids clothes when one of your £7's failed, the £7 needs to be off "womens or mens", so (again imho) wouldnt "kick in" on the kids clothes.
I never use the kids ones, so cant be sure, but thats what it could be....
I'm sure that all the tills are programmed the same(although can be altered instore)...........so most of my errors have actually been down to "me".....Couponing....."every little hurts"

My problem wasn't my adding up, I'd added up the 2 shops precisely but then put the stuff through in the wrong piles. Hoping to take daughter with me today to push another trolley so it dosen't happen again, for one last attemt at a penny paying day.
Does anyone know when the new range comes out as I'm running out of things to buy? I noticed a lot of sale stuff so more stuff must be coming in soon. Lack of underwear too, so there must be new styles of that coming in too.
Good Luck everyone today, I'm going to succeed today, pay pennies, keep focused, thanks Leadhead. Got too much stuff to take back can't deal with another failure due to my lack of organisation.
Thats the attitude..........Say what you mean....mean what you say....
Dont let the lack of stuff put you off, buy, buy, buy, while youve got the coupons..I do, hence the 20 pairs of jeans returned/to be returned for other stuff.
I've never been stopped from returning stuff for exchange..if the price has dropped, you can always use your couponed receipt to exchange(to maintain the original price)......as i said....not had any problems doing either.
I found taking back for a straight refund getting harder....Couponing....."every little hurts"

Hi,i had my first shot today at doing a clothes shop,i selected my clothes, got my other shopping and went to self scan checkout. I scanned my shopping then started scanning copouns, afer 3 ski active & 1 wholefood it called forassistance (no pattern for this on these checkouts at all!!) anyway nice lady came over and said she would have to authorise it i said ive a whole lot more no problem says she and was quite happy for me to put through the bundle i had, anyhow it took only 1 get active £6 the £5 off kids & the £10 off £50,she did everything she could but the till would not accept the £7 off £35 or another get active, she said she has noticed a few times now that if you scan the £10 off £50 it wont accept the £7 of £35:mad: anyhow i said no prob and paid, she was really apologetic and i said shall i try cs? she went and got clothing supervisor and she very kindly took my other £6 active and handed me bk £6 cash.
So not as good as could as been for me and not nearly as good as some of you much more experienced but my dd is v. happy with clothes i would not otherwise have bought her:T
I think ill take the ladies clothing back, does anyone know if this will be ok as i have a lot of coupons on my receipt?
TIA if anyone can give any hints/tips:T0 -

We usually say to spend £60 (£35 womens/mens and £25 kids) This then accomodates for all the vouchers.
You can use the all of blue set and all of the new set and pay £12, which is good, but if you have the new quit clothing or £6 yellow, use two and the clothes are free.
I have never had a problem using blues but if the ones you are using have a June expiry, be careful as some have reported them not working unless they are scanned first, so keep them at the top of the pile. HTH
ive got plenty of new summer vouchers then hopefully 1 blue set (have to try and get more soon) so that will be ok ta esp as my staff discount takes it down by £6 so thats even better:beer:Lead us not into temptation...
just tell us where it is and we'll find it....0
