thanks
I just hand over a wad of vouchers and say i dont know if they will work but would they mind trying
When they all go through i stand there and try to look shocked but happy saying that i expected some back so its a nice suprise!! :rotfl: They have all seemed genuinely pleased for me too - maybe ive got the suprised look down to a T now!! LOL :rotfl:
Have tried and currently use that approach and then kick myself on the way out that I probably could have used more!!!
Only been doing this since end Jan and have been getting braver, but it seems I still have a great deal to learn yet.
Am going to try a couple of H&B shops next week in the evening, have quite a few vouchers to use before they expire on the 30th.
With my store as well I have had so many knock backs with them not taking the coupons, I avoid middle aged women (no offence meant here;) ) and young blokes - these seem to be the worse, they read every word on the coupons!! so try to use the young girls and as yet not had any knock back from them.:grinheart I've caught it - The TESCO bug!!:grinheartTesco points have paid for Florida holiday this year'Kids now have 'womblitis':rotfl:I :heart2: MSE£2 savings 2008 = £46Quidco £244.95 PAID 2007 - £54.62 received to dateKids Finders keepers jar £5.99 -since 26/5/070 -
Hey gt - hope you're keeping the faith!
This 'new' coupon malarky is different from the Somerfield bonanza...
...because it's legit - sort of!
Basically you are combining H&B or clothing coupons - even though it's supposed to be 1 per transaction.
Mulitples work too - e.g. If you have £2 off a H&B spend and you spend £4 (before any BOGOFs) you can use 2 coupons - if the SA takes them!
Good luck,
Duder
I see, that makes a bit more sense. Incidently are there still somerfield coupons kicking around like there was around xmas? Cheers Dude.{Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -
Hello everyone! Right where do I start? I have been reading about everyone's success with clothing vouchers so I decided to give it a go over the weekend. I had a set of blue and the new yellow vouchers. Total clothing shop was $93 (pound sign not working) and used $50 ended up paying $43. I was pleased with myself however, in my rush and nervousness I picked up the wrong sizes. I went back to exchange and could not find the right size so asked for a refund and showed my receipt at cs. The woman looked unhappy whilst looking at the receipt and went off without even saying where she was going. I stood there like an idiot with my toddler throwing tantrums and a massive queue behind me tutting away at cs. She came back and went off again for another 10/15 minutes and eventually returned with an angry looking supervisor and accused me off fraud for using vouchers! Some of my vouchers were returned and the clothes were kept by cs and no refund! I was shocked/embarrassed to say the least and just walked off disappointed with the way the supervisor/cs handled the situation. Surely, Mr T is inticing everyone with vouchers and its not a crime for crying out loud since I went through the checkout and the tills accepted the vouchers! It was not like as if I went through self scan and scanned the vouchers myself.Furthermore, my receipt was marked as $59 worth of coupon use!
Any advice from experienced coupon users welcome......should I write to cs about the way I was treated? Or leave it and move on? I would never be able to go back to the same store again as I feel embarrased and also feel sorry for the guy at the checkout hope he didn't get into trouble over this.0 -
I see the Dudes answered this, but to answer your question a bit more, the Dudes £50 shop in question was just clothes.....if you go back to my answer to his question, you can see the possible combinations to use on a £50, £60 and £70 clothes spend.
HandB is a whole new ball game with so many coupons out, its possible to get lots of money off your other shopping.....all SA dependent of course.
Thanks mate. Not sure what I would do with all those clothes and H&B products though.{Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -

I have taken back clothing without receipt & asked to exchange it, & CS have been fine about it. I darend take back clothing when Ive used so amny vouchers.
Again it all depends on the CS you deal with, my locals are right dragons0 -
After having been away over Easter and having to catch up by reading lots on here about all the new vouchers, I had a very successful clothing shop today. Got £35 ladies and £25 kids clothes and used:
£10 yellow
£7 yellow
£5 yellow
£10 blue
£6 blue mens
£6 blue womens
£4 kids - would not scan
2x £6 get active
Also bought healthcare and toiletries and used various vouchers, reducing my initial £125 shop down to about £20, was well chuffed and glad to be back in Tesco-land.

You didn't commit fraud, they probably couldn't understand why so many vouchers had been accepted. I believe they've commited theft by keeping clothes you've paid for - perhaps someone else could clarify that?0 -

Thats a horror story and the conduct of Tesco's is disgraceful.
You bought these goods in good faith.
You gave them back their coupons and they accepted them, in doing so, the coupons they accepted became legal tender for the goods you purchased.....they are YOUR goods, Tesco have stolen them from you!!!.
If they had refused a refund because of all the coupon use, it could be understood, if they made you have an exchange only, the same could be said, but to take them from you, when you have legally bought them is THEFT.
As for what you do about it depends on you. I have stood my ground with various managers in the past and won, but because Ive won, theyve banned me from their stores.
Ive written to HO, and won, but because I did it more than once, received a national ban by letter.
(All bans are only effective though if they know I'm in the store....hence no Club card use)
If you want to take this further i can enlist the help of a couple of people who have fought the might of Tesco.
Its up to you...they certainly stole their stuff back from you.....it all depends on whether you wish to highten your profile..........and couponing.
Do you know if you actually spoke to the store manager(not the duty or CS), as store managers usually have a bit more sense than their underlings, and should really be able to see where their staff have gone wrong.
Feel free to PM me rather than make it all public....I believe Tesco read all Tesco related threads.Couponing....."every little hurts"
Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.
"I'll let you be in my dreams if I can be in yours, "I said that............................ Bob Dylan 19630 -
Please please please help me out..................
I have been reading about all the vouchers that you all use to get money off clothing etc. what I really want to know is where do you get these vouchers from? I am never that lucking in getting my hands on things like this.
Thanks for your help on this0
