No, unless I made up the reply YOU posted which just added substance to my argument. Which didn't happen. Quit being so defensive, it's a sign of guilt.
    This not you then?
Typical. Why do threads on this forum have to be tainted by self-righteous know-it-alls?

Intercoms are there for CONVENIENCE. I assume you and the other poster like to make your lives as difficult as possible so you can sit proudly on your high horse and nay-say others? What if the OP had a broken leg and couldn't walk down? What if they had a baby that started crying just as the food had been delivered?

Well I blame the OP when my buzzer goes I go down to meet them to collect it

The problem with this is that in my building there's two lifts and stairs on different sides of my flat, so if I did that it's quite likely I could go down one side while they're coming up the other side, they'd be knocking at my door while I'm downstairs wondering where they are, and then we miss each other going back up/down again! It's happened before!

When my intercom's working I would obviously speak to them and they'd say "Can you come down?" or "I'll be right up" so we know what's what. This is a certain case where my intercom isn't working properly and I've actually bothered to let the takeaway know this in advance. Not really my fault.

Also, call me petty, but when I've paid for something to be delivered to my home I want it actually delivering to my home. The delivery people don't normally mind bringing it up if I ask them to (except I couldn't this time!). If I've ordered a takeaway chances are I'm slobbing round in my PJs and don't want the hassle of getting dressed to go outside or I may as well have walked round to Tesco and bought something there for a lot less money! :)
