The pointless comments box on Just Eat

When you order from Just Eat there's a box during the checkout process when you can leave a note for the delivery person e.g. where to park or anything else helpful. The speaker on my intercom broke last week so I left a comment saying this just in case, didn't think it was important as it's not been a problem all week but best to be thorough. The intercom still works fine, I can still let people in, and it makes a really loud "NERRRRRR" noise on the outside so people know the door's opened.
So an hour after ordering my bell rings, I can see it's my takeaway on the intercom screen, press the entry button and wait for the knock on the door. Three minutes later I think this is a bit odd but sometimes delivery people do take their time finding my flat. Six minutes later I think this is taking the pee a little bit so I prop my door open and stick my head out expectantly with a suitably sad/hungry expression on my face. Ten minutes later I'm gnawing my fingers and wondering if the delivery guy's stuck in the lift, probably eating my noodles, the swine. But no. There's no one there.
I ring the takeaway and they say the food is on its way - I say it's already been and seemingly gone! They say they will call back when they find out. Another fifteen minutes later, half an hour after my intercom rang, they phone back to say that the guy took the food back because I didn't come down to get it. Why didn't they pass on the information I left in the comment box, you know, the one specifically designed to provide any information that might be of use to the delivery person?
"What comment box?"
I made instant noodles instead

You could speak to just eat via their live chat, let them know that there is some issue with either the site or the restaurant, the last time I did, I got a 20% voucher code.

I live on a corner and my front door is not on the street that is listed in my address. I therefore always write "front door is around the corner in X Street" in the comments box when ordering anything to be delivered. I usually get a phone call from the lost delivery driver saying he cannot find a front door. When I point out that my instructions are written on his sheet of paper they always stare at it like they have never seen the comments box before!0

And that ladies and gentlemen is why they are working as delivery drivers.....

Is there a Comments box for delivery? (honest question) I know there's a Comments box for notes about the order, I've used it frequently to request vegetables be omitted or to remind them about free prawn crackers, and my requests have always been read and honoured.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

I used to use them but I was chatting to one of the takeaway owners and he has to pay 20% of each order total to them and they keep hassling him to do special offers so he makes no money off it at all.0

Brilliant! I am gonna do something like that next time!Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
Well I blame the OP when my buzzer goes I go down to meet them to collect it0

I never buzz people in and expect them to find my flat! I buzz them in, then walk down and meet them in the foyer...0

I haven't had trouble with the comments box when I had to list a variety of dessert.
My issue is that they make businesses look more favourable by removing some of the negative comments.0
